These worked for me . I loaded them up with 1 TBS of peanut butter. After about 6 days the mice 1 large , 1 small got comfortable and finally entered them and were killed . The only downside after about 7-10 resettings of the trigger they will no longer hold open . I guess the plastic wears . I had to throw those units out . They are strong so keep away from kids and pets .UPDATE - these simply are almost 2-3 uses and then you cant get them to reset and hold open. I also have learned to not be conservative with peanut butter on them for bait. It appear 1-2 tbs is best and attracts more - maybe more scent gets transmitted - your kill rate will go up . I wasnt baiting them enough in the beginning I think at 1/4 tsp . I have killed 9 mice so far .UPDATE : I am up to 12 kills so far - so I consider myself an expert with these lol. I have found if you put a small amount of peanut butter on the outside of the trap too they can get a taste and get more comfortable and careless around the trap and are more likely to venture inside.

I had a lot of faith when purchasing this product that it would work. The jaws are jagged and the spring is powerful and snaps extremely hard when it is sprung. I tested it with a long tree branch from our oak tree and it snapped it clean off. I set up the traps with the Ramik pellet poison ☠ and we immediately had a first kill. I recommended this set to my neighbor and will recommend them to our extended family too. These traps work.One other note my wife pointed out with these traps that she likes over traditional wooden Victor traps is you don't have to see the rat's head after a kill. Also I want to point out that with this kill we had ZERO BLOOD. To me because, I have been battling rats in our yard for years that means an INSTANT KILL. That is a very Humane way of killing rodents.If you are on the fence about purchasing this trap look no further and pull the trigger on buying them. They work really well!

The first night I set out 3 of these with peanut butter and came out the next morning to find all the peanut butter gone but none of the traps triggered. That same day when I came back from work, I reset all the traps, placed them in corners, and put boxes on the sides so rodents would be forced to eat the peanut butter from the front. Within two hours the mouse was caught. If I ever need more mouse traps, I will be getting more of these.

I got my package really quick, considering I was going nuts to know I had a mouse - well, 2 - in the house. DROVE ME CRAZY!!!!. I set these traps and put them down in their running path in my kitchen. And sure enough SNAP!!! SNAP!!! to those little suckers. I have always been scared of the old wood traps (not sure of the name) because it could always snap you while setting it up. I loaded this plastic trap with peanut butter and pull back on the lever (very easy to do) it sets and you place it where they travel. No more sleepless nights. Now they partied in my kitchen like clockwork 10pm - 6am. Yep, I know cause I sat up the WHOLE time. Again, that's all over now. I have been mice free now 2 weeks with no more sleepless nights, traps are ready if they return.

I don't know if I got a different product than other reviewers but, by no stretch of the imagination, will this kill a normal size rat. Although smaller than I expected I set these with high hopes after reading the reviews. I went out later that evening and found I had "caught" a rat. It had one trap on its head, one trap on its paw, and one trap on it tail. And it was still very much alive and kicking. The only thing that kept it from walking away was that it got caught in so many traps. Had it only been in one trap I think it might have been a minor inconvenience at best. I had to beat it to death with a stick. Not to put it out of its misery (it didn't seem to be that miserable) but because, even with THREE traps attached to it, it was trying to come after me. Even with 3 traps snapped onto its body, this rat wasn't even injured enough not to drag them along as it attempted to take me down. If you have a small mouse problem (small= size of the mice, not the problem) these would probably do the trick. If you have an average rat problem (average=size of the rat, not the problem) don't bother unless you are really into killing rats by hand.

I just used peanut butter - worked fine.Have to be careful setting them as they are very sensitive.

In one hour I caught 2, i had to figure put exactly where to put peanut butter. The little removable tab under the bottom, u turn and remove place peanut butter on tab and BAMMMM u got action

Finally a mouse trap that works!! These mice evaded the regular traps and the glue traps. Eating the bait right off of them without harm. Not with these traps! First hour I laid them down I caught one already and it was an instant kill. No wiggling suffering little mouse. SO thankful!
