Wow, what a great little camera
I bought the red camera used (like-new) from Amazon Warehouse for $84 and received it on Friday (3/2) and charged it up overnight. The next day I took it with us to the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo as the perfect test for it since we would be walking around in bright sunlight with lots of motion and colors around us.This little camera passed with flying colors. First of all I just want to make one thing straight, this camera is NOT intended to replace your average camcorder that comes with all the bells and whistles that you're afraid of damaging or losing in public. This camera is a fun, simple, and inexpensive way to capture life on the go especially when dealing with spur of the moment situations involving the outdoors and your family. Fits in your pocket very easily (smaller than most cell phones).I tried all the video resolutions and effects as we walked around and found both the 720p settings to be ideal. The 720p/60 setting is better suited for sports or rapidly moving environments such as white water rafting I would assume, because the playback was too "crisp" and exact like a high speed shutter camera. Great for those speedy situations but a little dizzying when watching leisure outings of your family on your HDTV. The regular 720p setting was more smooth and lifelike while still providing great detail of your subjects.Operation of the camera is what sells it for me. If you are used to taking pictures with your cell phone then you already know how to use this camera. It was so easy to capture high definition video on the fly by simply holding up this small and unobtrusive device among the crowds at the petting zoo for example or as we maneuvered through the tight crowds at the carnival.Sound was good and I did not get any of that "wind" noise even though it was gusty at times as we walked around the Rodeo grounds.Playback was also simple as all you have to do is hook it up straight to your HDTV via a mini-hdmi to hdmi cable (bought separately) and press "play".Overall, this camera will suit active families where an expensive camera might be overkill especially if going outdoors. Simple to use and easy to operate with just one hand.Hint: Get the blue or red one as this makes it easy to find and identify wherever you place it.

Why Kodak Doesn't Make Cameras Any Longer
This is a great example why Kodak doesn't make cameras any longer - this is the worst camera I have ever owned! I bought this camera for a couple of reasons - style - compact - rugged - very easy use - 1080p quality. Yeah right, it is everything I mentioned with one exception, PICTURE QUALITY! There are no words to express the picture quality without using EXPLETIVE Grammer. The images and video are totally useless and not worth saving. All images and video look like your viewing them through a screen door at dusk!Since I bought this camera based on CNETS review I've got no one to blame but myself. I should have googled what I know now about this totally useless piece of JUNK!

Great pocket camera for recording sport skills
I bought this camera primarily to use it to take videos of my softball players to allow for assessments of their pitching/throwing/batting. I chose this one because it supported 60FPS and 720P HD. The 60FPS was the most important feature because it allows for really decent slow motion action when trying to look at what the girls are doing right or wrong with their skills. So far I do not have any complaints with respect to the reason I purchased the camera. It is still working good and has stood up well being out on the dusty ball field filming. I have also used it on a couple of other occasions and it has performed well.I took it to a couple of concerts and film a view clips of the performers. It functions ok in this setting. The sound at the concert easily overwhelmed the microphone and you did not get good sound reproduction. Though this was entirely within my expectation....I as not expecting to get great sound out of it, but just enough to share some of the experience with some friends and it accomplished that task. The zoom is also limited and so some of those concert shots are not the best (as well as limited lighting) but again it met my expectations for this type of camera. Also, my softball work is always at reasonably close range. If you were trying to shoot someone from the stands, I am not certain how well the zoom would work in allowing you to capture enough detail to make analysis useful, but with good lighting, it would probably work fine with respect to just recording the event. Finally, I took it fishing recently and my daughter wanted to film me catching some fish and make a fun documentary. It proved useful for that also. Our only issues were that it was a windy day and the wind sound often washed out any "fun" commentary I was making. Additionally, we learned that I needed to make sure I spoke towards the camera or the microphone would not pick up my voice well. This is not necessarily a downside to the camera, as it is small and one should not expect a great mircophone, but it is just something to be aware of when using the camera. The software that came with the camera is not bad. You can connect the camera and use the software to download the videos or I was able to just as easily use Google Picasa to achieve the same thing. I would have liked it if the software allowed me to step through the videos frame by frame, as that helps with the softball skill analysis, but it did not, but I did not buy it with an expectation that the software would have that capability. One last thing that I do need to note is that although I got a high speed SD card for the camera (class 10), every once in a while it will suddenly stop recording and claim that the memory card is too slow. I am not certain what causes this because I can usually start recording the exact same thing again and it will not happen. This is an annoyance and could be a factor if you were trying to capture a one time only shot.Overall, it is a good camera for what you pay and with respect to my expectations. It has a couple of minor annoyances but nothing that is a downer for my specific purposes. I know I have not used all of its capabilities yet (I have not been brave enough to submerge it in water yet), but if you needed a nice small video camera (especially for recording athletic activities that you wanted to review later) I would highly recommend this camera.

Great bang for the buck!
I bought the Zx5 for around $80. I gave it five stars for that reason! It is a superb waterproof underwater camera for the price! It takes excellent underwater pictures and video under good lighting conditions. The controls are easy to use and the LCD display is useful (but not underwater). I took this camera to Kauai for snokeling and I was not disappointed! I used it in the ocean, pool, and hot tub with excellent results. You can't really use the LCD display underwater because it's hard to see. You simply have to point and shoot and you'll come out just fine. The underwater image quality is excellent if the lighting is good. Clean up is a breeze. Run clean water over the camera after use and you're good-to-go. The cover for the USB and HDMI and the cover for the flash card seem simple but they are effective. I read the negative reviews about water pouring in after a couple of uses but I can't see that happening. Don't waste your money on the more expensive underwater cameras out there. The Kodak Zx5 does the trick!

Not very durable product
This product is poor. I had it replaced after 6 months and the same fault has reoccurred. Seems many have had the same issue too.The door mechanisms (required to access the charging / download port and the memory card) easily jam.Now it's out of guarantee period it's a flat charge of £45 to have it replaced. Then I'll will get another 6 months until the same fault occurs? No thanks.Aside from that the pics are ok, the video worked well. The camera is waterproof but the sound is poor when underwater and a tinny noise accompanies any underwater video.

Loved it. one of the best things I bought ...
Loved it. one of the best things I bought for my children. So easy to use and totally child proof.Even survived a house fire (unlike everything else electronic). Only issue is the few seconds time lag when trying to record but otherwise great little camera.
