Great shocks on the Grand Marquis
I installed these on the rear of my (wife's) '04 Grand Marquis "Ultimate Edition" (with the air springs / auto level system) and they are fantastic. The ride is better on bumps, and the back end doesn't feel like it's sliding out when driving around bumpy corners on poorly-maintained city streets. The ride is not harsh at all - it feels comparable to the factory ride. But there is definitely more control and better handling now, while sharp bumps in the road just dissappear. The giant car isn't a sports car by any stretch, but combined with the 18" wheels and Michelins that I'm using now, it really is night and day. I hadn't planned to replace the front struts, but I'm totally doing so now.Originally I had just purchased cheap Monroe "sens-a-trac" shocks, but one of those blew out the first day, and they really didn't work well. As usual, you get what you pay for.One more note - get the SM5267 kit. You don't need everything in that kit, but having new nuts and the upper bushing is convenient.

KYB top Tier Suspension standard for years
Easy to install, consistent quality standard, I did not have issues years ago, have not needed shocks and struts for years and got reacquainted in recent moths to be reminded Top Tier companies are still the way to go.

These work with no complaints or regrets
I put these on my wifes Lincoln. They are a great improvement over the NEW shocks I had put on less than a year ago. I was afraid they would be to harsh for her liking. However they are fine. They ride firm and rebound nicely and actually reset the ride height . The other shocks would bottom out hard . I like them for this car. I should have used them to start with. I got them for all 4 corners on my Charger and my brothers last year. KYB has been a brand you can trust for years.

Exact fit
Exact fit. Crazy thing is you have to buy the rubber mount and bolt separately

Very nice ride but incomplete mounting hardware
Very firm shocks and a very nice ride. These feel much better than the Monroe 5993 shocks. Installation was breeze. My only complaint is that it does not come with all the hardware to install it. If you want new hardware you have to buy one KYB SM5267 Mount Kit for each shock. If your old hardware is decent enough then skip the Mount Kit.

Excellent ride, nice and smooth and way better than OE
Installed on a 06 crown vic, they ride very nice! Install was a snap depending on your vehicle, only dislike really was you have to buy the mounting kit seperatly depending on your car. There is no "universal" mounting kit included.I bought these after installing a pair of monroe severe service shocks a year ago that literally took a dump and were useless once they were installed. Stick with KYB after your OE shocks/struts go bad or if you stick to the 50k mile rule ( I dont ).

GREAT SHOCKS
SHOCKS RAISED REAR END A LITTLE BIT WHICH IF WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR. I ALSO REPLACED MY SAGGING COIL SPRINGS AT THE SAME TIME. CAR RIDES AND HANDLES BETTER ON MY 2003 MERCURY GRAND MARQUIS.

KYB STD Shock
The original OEM shocks on my MGM only have 50k miles on them, but they were riding very stiff for some reason. I've heard that KYBs would be stiff, but that might have only applied to the HD (police) version. I would say that for a civilian model, these are okay...but lack enough rebound damping for my taste. I don't know if the HD would be too stiff though.
