Q: wondering about the coasting/freewheel lever? how does it work and what is the purpose? so it can be pushed without the pedals turning....

The majority of our go-karts, including our Kettcar Spa, have a freewheel feature. If your child stops pedalling or goes down a slope the pedals will not continue to move round and force the child’s legs with the motion. This is much safer and much more enjoyable for the child. Even with the freewheel function there is still an ability to both forward and backwards. Hope this has helped and thanks for considering Kettler. Over 15 million models have since been sold and loved by children worldwide since the first Kettcar rolled off the line in 1962!
