I think it will work for adults with smaller hands.

They make a pencil -- same shape.

Q: Why does it say ink color blue? Is this not a pencil?

This is a mechanical pencil and should not have the attribute of an ink color. I have contacted Amazon to correct this error and am waiting for a resolution. This pencil comes with thick 2mm refill leads.
