Quick and hearty
I used to periodically get McCann’s steel cut oats which are good, but time consuming to make. I discovered Coach’s from a local restaurant that serves them (with full disclosure on their menu). Really liked them so bought these. Faster to make than McCann’s, still has more “bite” and texture than envelope or cylinder box oatmeal, but a little more tender than McCanns. (Or maybe I was too impatient and didn’t cook the McCanns long enough.) Hearty enough to hold you until lunchtime, I dress it up like other oatmeals, a little brown sugar or maple syrup, love it with chopped walnuts or pecans. They are my go-to cereal now, won’t eat any other type. Highly recommend.

... oatmeal and discovered that it's the instant stuff I hate. So I started buying and eating oatmeal
I never cared for the texture of oatmeal but then I had "real" oatmeal and discovered that it's the instant stuff I hate. So I started buying and eating oatmeal. Then I tried a toasted oatmeal and liked the flavor more. I couldn't find it locally at a reasonable price so I searched online and discovered Coach's Oats. I love the taste and the texture. And it is almost instant when fixed in the microwave, you microwave for three minutes. I premeasure a serving into snack size zip bags, add brown sugar and cinnamon and take a week's supply to work with me. Its a fast, easy, filling and very tasty and healthy breakfast. One word of caution though: Make sure your bowl is WAY bigger than you would think you need. The oatmeal bubbles up and you will have a mess to clean in the microwave if you don't.It's ideal for camping, too, especially if you premeasure and add your sugar or whatever in the zip bag before you go. It takes 5 minutes to cook on the stove. I have bought multiple bags of this to share with the oatmeal lovers in my circle of friends and family. I've created several converts.

Great Oats!
Have tried several other steel cut oatmeal brands and Coach's is by far the best! The oats are cut fine enough that they absorb the water easily and are easily digestible but large enough that they provide the fiber/roughage that I need in my diet. I am so glad that Amazon sells it as it is difficult to find in the markets. Used to be able to find it at a big box store but they no longer carry it.

Hate generic rolled oatmeal? Eat Coach's Oats instead.
My daily breakfast! I discovered Coach's Oats at Costco a few months back. Bought a few bags, and then was sad when they stopped carrying it at my local Costco. Had been buying it on Amazon since!Great to set up overnight and take to work in the morning.1/3C Coachs Oats1-1.5 Tbsp (A good size glob) of organic extra virgin coconut oil1-1.5 Tbsp Hemp Hearts1-1.5 Tbsp Chia Seeds1C Almond MilkLet sit overnight in the fridge. Try their cookie recipe! It's awesome!
Oatmeal cookies were never my favorite but a few days ago I gave my husband the choice of any homemade cookie that he wanted and he chose oatmeal. I love Coach's Oats and since that was the only oatmeal in our house I Googled "Coach's Oat Oatmeal Cookie recipe" and found this one from the Coach's website. I left out the raisins, neither my hubby or I are fans of raisins in stuff, on the first batch. They turned out so good that the very next day I made a double batch of them but this time added walnuts. Oh my goodness! Yummo! The extra cookies are now in the freezer for the next time we have company.Coach’s OatsOatmeal Cookies¾ cup butter softened1 cup packed brown sugar½ cup sugar¼ tsp. salt1 tsp. baking powder¼ tsp. baking soda2 tsp. ground cinnamon2 eggs2 tsp. vanilla1 ¾ cup all purpose flour2 cups Coach’s Oats1 cup raisins*Preheat oven to 375 degrees. In a mixing bowl, beat butter with an electric mixer for 30 seconds. Add sugars, salt, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, eggs, vanilla and about half of the flour. Beat until thoroughly combined. Beat in remaining flour. Stir in oats and raisins (if you’re using them). Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto an ungreased cookie sheet about one inch apart. Bake at 375 for 12-15 minutes or until edges are golden. Cool cookies on a wire rack. Enjoy!*Optional: Replace raisins with dried cranberries or chocolate or butterscotch chips. You can also add ½ cup chopped pecans or walnuts. For a softer cookie use 1 cup Coach’s Oats and 1 cup rolled oats.

Taste good and so easy to cook!
This is my favorite and I don't buy those instant packaged from Whole Foods, Fresh Market, or Walmart any longer. It's very easy and fast to make - 3 minutes in microwave; and it's delicious - add whatever you like. I add cranberries, walnuts, raisin, and flaxseeds. Two things I want to mention for people new to Coach's oats.1. Try to use a big cup or bowl when you first time microwave it based on the instruction on the package, and it gets boiled up after about two minutes and can overflow and make your microwave messy. Just watch it cooking closely for several times so you know exactly how much water or milk to go with your portion of oats to get the texture you like (instruction says 1/4 cup oats with 3/4 cup water/milk).2. If you have COSTCO in town, you should be able to find there; COSTCO price is about half of Amazon's lowest price on the same 4.5 lb package.Enjoy!
