I was hoping that a shot or two would help convince them that my yard wasn't the best playground for them
I bought this because my neighborhood was being terrorized by a cocky gang of obese raccoons. The big fat furry turds would tear up everyone's yards, chase pets around, and I sat and watched as all 5 of them at once jumped on a garden trellis in the backyard and started rocking it back and forth until it was nearly destroyed. They were probably laughing in their filthy little raccoon language as they did it too.But because I live in a subdivision and there are some strange neighbors around, I couldn't just shoot them. So I ordered this along with the spare paintballs and thanks to my Amazon Prime, I had it in my hands within a couple of days. I was hoping that a shot or two would help convince them that my yard wasn't the best playground for them.So the next time I woke up in the middle of the night to the sounds of their grubby sausagey finger-claws scrapping along the fence as they dragged their fat selves over from the neighbors yard, I ran downstairs, grabbed this little gun, and out I went. They all saw me run out into the yard and stopped for a few seconds and stared at me, their obese little bodies heaving from the exertion of climbing the fence, then they ignored me and moved towards the blackberry bushes to commence with their nightly berry-orgy.I carefully aimed and fired, but my first couple of shots went slightly high. I corrected and one by one plinked each one of the brazen little thieves. It definitely got their attention and they all turned to me and started a strange synchronized wheezing. When they realized that I was less than impressed as demonstrated by a follow-up salvo and that their buffet had ended, they slowly clambered over to the fence, paused to catch their breath, and then started the climb up and over the fence to the neighbors yard where I later heard they raised hell and tore up most of the garden. In the long run, this gun didn't do much to scare off the raccoons permanently, but it's a fun little thing to have around. If you're pestered by door to door salesmen, little children, or fat thuggish animals, this toy provides a relatively safe but very entertaining possibility of deterrence.

Lot's of fun. Easy to use for kids
Lot's of fun. Easy to use for kids. Price is reasonable. The one negative is accuracy. It shoots the large paint balls which are fairly heavy, it's spring loaded so the velocity is low, and the actual barrel for the paint balls is below the pseudo barrel with the sight, so the gun shoots really low, like a foot to a foot and a half low from twenty-five feet out. Because it shoots so low, it makes it hard to aim because you have to aim so high you can't see the target. That said, my 11 year old son has figured it out shoots it with amazing accuracy. Also a plus is the paint from the paint balls clean up easily.

eh
looks pretty cool but shoots bad. the range (splat range is only about 90 ft. The gun is made of only plastic and doesn't always shoot. It also came out of the box and disorganized.

Ammo not included as advertised!!
My son recently order this item and was super excited to try it out when he came from school, but unfortunately the JT Splatmaster Z300 Sniper did not 15 rounds of ammo as promised!!Very disappointing since we wanted to try the device before we ordered more ammo!!

I love this gun, go with this over any other splatmaster
I'm going to combine this review with reviews for 2 other JT Splatmasters.I bought 4 z100s,a z200, and a z300. I set up a course in our backyard and played with our 7 yr old. Even though it's recommend for ages 9 and up he had fun with it.The z100 was the worst. When it did shoot, it did not go too far and had was least accurate. The biggest issue was getting it to shoot. Balls broke inside and caused the gun not to be able to fire very often. We had 4 of the z100s and within minutes all 4 were clogged and were unusable without a thorough cleaning. Both the gun and the clip had problems when balls broke. I would not recommend the z100.The z200 was the second best. It had decent distance and accuracy. It was more playable than the z100. Balls did break in the z200 as well but if you shot a few times it generally cleared up and was usable again without having to completely clean it out. The z200 was OK, but for an extra $10 I would definitely go with the z300.The z300 was awesome. I really liked this gun. I wish I had just bought a few of these instead of getting the z100s and z200. Plenty of velocity for a backyard game and very accurate. This did also have balls break in it but like the z200 if you fired a couple shots it generally cleared up enough on it's own to keep playing. This is by far the best one and would highly recommend it.

A good started gun
My kids (11 and 7) own a couple of other JT Splatmaster products and this one is the same good quality product as the others. The mechanism to cock the gun takes a tiny bit of getting used to, and is not as useful as the one on the shotgun, but it works well enough. I find the sight on this gun a bit annoying, particularly if you are shooting at anything a good distance away. When you look through the sight, and you raise the gun up for the amount of drop you will have in that distance, you cant see your target at all. But all in all, this gun shoots well and we have shot about 1000 rounds with this gun and haven't chopped a single paintball yet. Fun product!

Fun but there's a better solution
Super fun gun and haven't had a malfunction with a couple hundred rounds through it. The charging handle can be awkward - and I think the splatmaster shotgun is probably the easiest and most ergonomic with its pump action. The rear peep and front post - while faithful to the m4 ironsight platform (somewhat) aren't as intuitive especially with kids and additionally these guns aren't really made for distance+accuracy (I'd say 25 yards TOPS). Having the M4 rifle is more of an aesthetic gimmick unless you really need to shoulder your weapon to shoot accurately with not-that-accurate guns.

Two Stars
they don't last that long. I've purchased four and 2 are already broken.
