Very easy
This model is pretty easy to make, there's online videos you can follow if the paper ever gets a little confusing, the only difficult part is putting holes in the toothpicks. So maybe buy a few extra if that is an especially difficult part for you but otherwise it looks great and is very high quality. Even without sails this boat looks great!

SMALL BUT AS ADVERTISED,
VERY SMALL, AS COMMENTS STATED AND AS STATED IN SPECIFIED DIMENSIONS, NOT COMPLETED WITH 12 YR OLD GRANDSON, AND WE BOTH MAY NEED A LITTLE HELP, YET TO TELL, NOT FINISHED YET. I'M SURE WE WILL, AND IT WILL BE QUITE A KEEP SAKE FOR HIM!! GOOD PURCHASE.

Very difficult to build
I wanted to build a ship in a bottle and there were no other choices but this one on Amazon. This is VERY tiny so make sure you have proper tools to use, for example, a tool that can cut a hole through a toothpick. I would also suggest finding an instant bonding glue because the pieces are so tiny and difficult to hold and wait for glue to dry. I lose patience after working on it for a while, so it is not complete yet.

Great first ship model
Great first boat. Harder then it looks but made it a great challenge. Stepping stone before you go expensive on a better kit.

Horrible instructions, no pictures, doesn't even include all materials needed!!
I really enjoy making different model kits and was looking forward to making this but after seeing what it actually included, I decided to return it.This kit is an absolute joke. Step 1 of the instructions is to paint the inside of the bottle to look like the sea. Step 2 is to shape the hull. They don't even give you pictures for either of these steps!! The only 'pictures' in the instructions are hand drawn and really not at all helpful. I tried referencing a picture of the actual USS Constitution, but the hull base they give you is not shaped like the one on the actual ship. You'd have to do a LOT of reshaping. At this point I decided that I'd probably be able to get a better result if I just bought the raw materials and made a model from scratch.BTW, at the time I'm writing this review, some other reviewer has a picture of a very nice looking ship in a larger bottle with a five star review. That picture is not from this kit, don't be fooled.

Good quality
This ship in the bottle. Would suggest that pins be placed in hull and deck just after sanding and before painting to avoid damaging parts

Very incomplete kit…
Quick Overview (details below):This is a very incomplete kit with poor instructions and one major flaw - the ship hull is much to long for the provided bottle. The only way you would catch this is building it the 2nd time. As it was, I had to go out and buy a new bottle to fit my completed boat.Detailed positive:The hull provided is a very nice start to the project. Nothing else in the kit is worth bragging on.Detailed Criticisms:As mentioned above, the major flaw is a combination of mismatched parts terrible instructions not warning you that the hull as shipped is way too long after you have added the rigging on.There are many things you will need to complete: a very special set of micro drill bits, paint (3-4 colors of testers oil), multiple kinds of glues, paper for sails, hobby knife, scissors, straight edge, cutting mat, brushes, bamboo skewers, thread, sandpaper and epoxy or plactacine/clay for water for boat to sit in. Additionally I used some double stick tape and custom made some tools as prodders, adjuster, pokers and applicators once the boat was finally in the bottle. Finally, the instructions tell you to rig it in a way that the sails CANNOT COLAPSE. It’s like someone sat down and wrote the directions as a theory and not actually applied to the real world. Many mistakes and very misleading steps combined with terrible illustrations make this kit very difficult to be successful with. I made the model in spite of the kit. Not because of it.Took me 25 hrs to complete.I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS KIT TO ANYONE.
