Perfect replacement
The media could not be loaded. This was a perfect replacement for a Nutone motor number JAC028G#. In the pictures you’ll see the old assembly after being removed from the housing. I disassembled it, removed the old bad motor, cleaned everything with CLR, then just reinstalled the new replacement motor. I used a light grease on the surfaces of the rubber seats on the front and back of the mount. You can see the old unit, and you can also see how well the CLR cleaned up the impeller, metal brackets, and rubber seats. Did a bench test and it purrs like a kitten! A little pricey, but well worth it!

It is an original equipment item.
Nutone exhaust fan motor quit after 40 years and rather than buy a whole new unit I found this motor. Hubby installed it. Wonderful so far!

Will Work Well With Nutone 8672
I have a Nutone Vent a Light 8672 from 1971. The motor installed pretty easily and works just fine with the 8672. The shaft of the new motor was just slightly smaller than the original motor. I used blue painter's tape around the new motor shaft so that the original blower wheel would fit snugly. If you're using on the 8672, you may consider ordering the blower wheel. The original motor was 49 years old and getting ready to burn out. It would have to warm up for 2 minutes before it would start turning. This easiest option for me was to replace the motor rather than trying to get a new fan to fit in an existing opening. I'm glad Amazon stocks so many parts that are hard to find.

Very satisfied
Our bathroom fan in our mid century home was giving up the ghost in spite of it’s valiant effort to still work. I had been planning to get a new fan installed but my husband became incapacitated and the task was up to me. I simply removed the guts of the old fan and ordered this motor and a new wheel. Pop it in and poof! Problem solved. Some of the reviews note the fan is loud, but it is if anything a bit quieter than the original. I am certainly not bothered by it. Reviews of the off brand motor note the plug had to be replaced as it didn’t have the 90 degree configuration. I highly recommend this one, no fuss requires, worth the price.

that it works noticeably better. It is
It's the right motor, and it works. My old motor was more than 40 yrs old before it stopped working, but it had gotten weaker at least 10 years earlier. The new motor is so much stronger, that it works noticeably better. It is, however, louder. I need to recheck the mounting to make sure everything is tight and that the rubber isolation bushings are correctly in place. If everything looks good, I may eventually run a new power line to put the fan on it's own switch with a dimmer so that I can run it at less than full speed. Right now it's part of a light fixture and always runs at full speed and always runs when the light is turned on.Given the noise (which is understandable), if I can't quiet it down, the separate dimmer would be good. I don't ALWAYS need the fan to run when the light is on, and I don't always need it to run at full power, but when it does, it REALLY WORKS. At the exhaust vent outside my home, I can feel the air flowing out through the vent, and it's impressive. This fan moves a lot of air. I didn't realize just how degraded my old fan was until I replaced the motor with this new one.

Seller is out of genuine Nutone motors as of 4/8/2014
On my 4/8/2014 order, the seller shipped a different item from what was described and pictured. Instead of a genuine Nutone/Broan 2450 motor, they shipped a cheap after market replacement (Packard?) in a Nutone box. To their credit, when I requested a return, they immediately apologized, saying they were out of the genuine motors and shouldn't have shipped the substitute without permission. The issued an immediate refund, and, without my asking, said I did not have to go through the hassle of packaging and shipping a return. Based on their response, I would try the seller again. But not the substitute aftermarket motor. I tried it, and it's noisier than the old Nutone with worn bearings that I'm trying to replace.

Did the trick
Climbing up in the attic that is two feet deep with insulation and digging around so that I can install a new fan unit because they don't make anything that fits the old hole, that is no fun. But buying this motor, spending 60 seconds pulling out three screws and putting them back in to move the bracket over, popping on a new fan impeller (also bought on Amazon), and then sliding the whole thing into the old housing is awesome. 10 minutes of work, 4 minutes of hunting on the internet= a half a day I can spend doing other stuff. This fan is not quiet, but neither was the old one. I suspect if I dug around in the attic box I might find something rattling, which is part of the problem. It does move air, and works flawlessly, and is certainly a direct replacement. No complaints.

Great replacement motor
This motor is a direct replacement for a 30-year-old Nutone 8662N (obsolete) ventilation fan. Installation was a breeze and perfectly fit the OEM mount. My new motor runs perfectly smooth and is very quiet!
