Looking good and riding comfortable doesn't mean you have to break the bank. Tastefully coloured in black with subtle red stitching features at first glance you could be forgiven for mistaking the Phobos II cycling shorts for casual shorts. But these shorts are packed with features mandatory for the avid mountain biker. The polyester face material of the short is durable and easy to clean. The crouch panel and rear panel below the waist band uses a two way stretch polyester material for a comfortable fit and ease of movement. There are two standard hip pickets and two zipped leg pockets, press stud waist fastener, zip fly and fully elasticated waist band and Velcro leg adjusters complete these great value shorts.

Designed for durability rather than comfort
I’ve been in the market for new MTB shorts, since the velcro fly on my much loved TLD shorts has perished.I took a punt on these, because they were cheap as chips and came highly reviewed. My main observation is that they’ve been made for durability rather than comfort. While they’re not uncomfortable to wear, they’re made from polyester, which is quite a stiff, shiny, plastic-like fabric, which isn’t very breathable or flexible.Riding the bike, I didn’t notice any restricted movement or discomfort, but due to the material, it makes a lot of noise rubbing against your knee and the feeling is also a bit distracting. The shorts are otherwise very well put together and have reinforced fabric around the seat. I don’t see them wearing out any time soon. They are pretty long (three-quarter length - I’m 5’10), so don’t let much air in.My waist is approx 37’ and the XL fit well. They have a sturdy zip fly and popper button, there 2 regular mesh pockets, plus another 2 with zips lower down, which hold my phone nicely in place.I don’t know if the fabric will soften in the wash, or whether they can even be machine washed, since there were no washing instructions included. In summary, these seem a durable over-short that is perhaps best suited for the muddy and wet winter months. There are much nicer products on the market if you are willing to splash the cash.

Useful pockets and comfortable
I quite like these but I suspect I can find some I like more. The water resistant material is a bit stiff even after a wash, so doesn't hang quite as naturally as I would like. There are velcro straps to tighten up the legs if you want them less baggy, but they don't look great if you do that. The best thing is the excellent pockets. Two very secure zipped ones keep keys and money safe, while the side ones have plenty of space for other less critical stuff. These shorts fasten with a zip and a press stud and have no liner or padding. I found the waist size about what I'd expect for a Medium. Overall not bad, but I'm still looking for the perfect pair.

Nice, but durability issues
I found these shorts to be very comfortable. I wear them over the top of a pair of regular type padded lycra shorts. After about 120 miles of riding (and three goes in the washing machine) I've found both seams on the legs are now coming apart and badly frayed. This is isn't too apparent with dark shorts underneath, but if you have bare skin, it shows up. A shame really because I liked them, but won't buy again.

Really comfortable and look good.
Yep ,these are really nice and comfortable to wear on my MTB , plenty of pockets for whatever you need and a reinforced backside - these shorts will not wear out any time soon . Oh and they have a nice touch In my opinion , which Is a reflective `Deko ` emblem , I like that ....

Good buy
I have bought a few pairs of MTB shorts online. These have been the best so far. No sign of the butt wearing out like the last pair I bough and returned after only 3 rides. Yes 5 stars

Plasticky material and too large
Material feels a bit plastiky, a bit like a pac-a-mac, so it feels a bit rigid and not that great to wear. I bought a large and it felt massive on me (im 6 foot too and 13.5 stone / 87 kg). The elasticated waist meant it fit my 35 inch waist ok but it felt tent like underneath that with a lot of air around the backside and each leg. Lastly, and this is a personal thing, but I dont like cycling shorts that end at or below the knee like these do as they catch on the knee each time you pedal. So to me they would be better described as half length trousers rather than shorts.

good quality shorts. i ordered the wrong size and Deko sorted me a replacement very quickly. They feel like canvass so a bit thinner than i was expecting, but they are v tough.

Very durable product at a good price
Wear these for Mountain biking and the gym and they are good for both. I now have three pairs of these they are better than others I have bought if you consider the price. Must add that the first pair I owned have now worn through on the back side from the saddle but this is to expected because my backside has took a good pounding. Great shorts highly recommend.
