A ratings sensation for ABC, Peyton Placeâalready a successful 1956 novel and 1957 filmâmade its way to network television in 1964. A prime-time soap opera whose influence can be seen in later beloved programs such as Dallas, Knots Landing, and Twin Peaks, Peyton Place examined the complex web of scandals, schemes, and sex in a New England town. Featuring Dorothy Malone, Mia Farrow, and Ryan O'Neal, the long-awaited third volume of Peyton Place is finally available on DVD. Fans of the series will find this collection of episodes as deliciously addictive now as they were in their original airing.

Addicting. Good Writing & Acting
Finally after nine years the continuing story of PEYTON PLACE. These 33 black and white episodes start with the aftermath of Elliot Carson's shooting and end before Joe Chernak's killing. The show is very good and so very addicting. The characters are very nuanced and have very real problems told in soap opera fashion. Many characters come and go like Leslie Harrington. Leslie Nielsen arrives playing twins. Ruth Warwick is in one episode as Hannah Cord, a soon to be popular character. Her son Steven Cord is introduced. Heather Angel plays the wife of lawyer Theodore Dowel in a few episodes. Rodney and Allison (played by Ryan O'Neal & Mia Farrow) resume their popular romance. Gail Kobe (a popular soap opera producer including the sequel to this series) is introduced as Doris Shuster, a mom to a deaf girl and an all work no play husband played by William Smithers (villain Jeremy Wendell on Dallas). This show was on for 5 years but was so popular it aired three nights a week leading to a lot of episodes in 1965 and 1966. As the series ended it scaled back to one show a week. These are all black and white episodes from 1965.This series also spawned a two year daytime serial (Return To Peyton Place) with at least four actors from the primetime series. Also, there were two reunion TV movies in 1977 and 1985. Hopefully we get all this on DVD soon.

GREAT RETRO TELEVISION
This classic series ran from 1964-1969. It may seem dated to some, so slow down your internal clock. I binged watched a disc at a time and loved it. See some big stars and some fine acting. These DVDs are transferred from used syndicated prints so you may see dirt and occasional splices on the film. If you can overlook that, you'll enjoy some great TV

My favorite soap opera of all time
I was waiting for other sets to be released after the first two sets came out. I signed up to be notified if and when others were released. I happened on this by sheer accident. I am not disappointed. The quality was great and now I will finally get to see the entire series. Can’t wait to order #4.

So it looks like that will be released soon
I'm thrilled that part three is finally being offered. The even bigger news is that Shout Factory is advertising part four on their website. So it looks like that will be released soon, as well. Maybe this means that Shout Factory will be releasing the entire series at some point. The set arrived yesterday just as Amazon said it would. I'll soon be ordering part 4, which is due out in June.

... have Volume 3 available for purchase I was quickly disappointed by the quality of the release
Excited to finally have Volume 3 available for purchase I was quickly disappointed by the quality of the release. With all the digital remastering of classic films you'd think Shout Factory would have made some effort "cleaning up" PP3. I have episodes recorded from one of its cable TV runs without all the blips, skips and crackle evident in this DVD set. Of course I'm grateful to have this classic series in any form...but I'm holding on to my old recorded copies regardless.

Release entire Peyton Place TV series
Loved it. Decent quality video and audio. I’m just excited to finally have more of the series available. I also have Parts four and five, with similar satisfaction, and I eagerly await the availability of the rest of the epic series. I’m baffled by it not being available for purchase in some medium.

This was the poorest quality video I have seen and it is incomplete.
The quality of these videos is terrible. I could almost put up with the poor quality but the worst part is what I thought was the last segment was not the end of the program. I thought it was strange to sell the DVDs one at a time and not the complete set. Now I know why, whoever did this stopped before the end of the program. This is really upsetting. I bought this for my wife thinking I was getting the complete set and find it is not. I would appreciate a refund. I know they are beyond the normal timeframe but I didn't find out till I got to what I thought was going to be the end.David Ayers

Return to "Peyton Place"
Having now watched all episodes of "Peyton Place" Parts 1, 2, and 3, I find myself riding the crest of a wave of nostalgia. Not having seen any of these since the mid-1960s, I've been reminded of how addictive they were - and still are! Lovely to see some favourite faces again, too - Mia Farrow, Barbara Parkins, Ryan O'Neal, et al. Just like meeting old friends!
