Fresh tasting tahini
This tahini is like fresh ground natural peanut butter. You stir up the oil layer and you get a wonderful sesame liquid paste to use in hummus or other recipes. It's actually really good as a dip for pita bread triangles along with pomegranate molasses, as suggested by Chef Solonomov of Zahav fame. I tried that--it IS like peanut butter and jelly. A sour jelly. So if you like sour and savory better than sugary sweet, give it a try. This tahini has none of the bitter flavor of the canned tahini that was all we could find in stores for decades. It makes a big difference in recipes. I've been using this one since a friend noted that organic tahini tasted a lot better. Well, it does taste better. If you want to use tahini in something other than hummus, try lemon tahini salad dressing. This is very good on cucumbers, radishes and romaine lettuce or on cold blanched vegetables like green beans, broccoli or asparagus:1⁄4 cup tahini1⁄4 cup water2 1⁄2 tablespoons fresh lemon or lime juice2 Tbs Braggs aminos or light soy sauce2 tsp honey (microwave your honey for a few seconds to make it runnier. Careful, do not run it long or it gets dangerously hot)1 mashed clove of garlic1⁄2 teaspoon ground sea salt1/4 tsp Aleppo pepper (Penzeys is a good source)blend this in a blender or "bullet" style blender and drizzle on vegetables.

Very, very bitter
I saw some other reviews that said this tahini was bitter, and I ignored them. I figured they didn't know what tahini should taste like. Was I ever wrong. This stuff is extremely bitter, really unpleasant. I've been making recipes with tahini for about 25 years, and I've never tasted tahini this bitter. I see all kinds of different reviews of this stuff, which makes me think there is a quality control issue--the batches are probably not consistent. I like to support organic foods, and I love the glass jar, but this tahini is inedible. I hate to waste food, but I'm going to throw this stuff out. It's so bitter I can't use it.

Great
Never had tried Tahin before so wasn't sure what it was. Many of the recipesI wanted to use in my new eating regimen call for Tahini. So I got this. It is good to me and I like the texture/ flavor it adds to foods. Also like that it is organic; non GMO; and in glass.

Not sealed
I received this Monday. I'm a bit concerned because although the plastic was around the top, the jar was not sealed. Worried I possibly shouldn't eat it???

Made excellent Hummus
I used this to make Hummus in my blender and it was fantastic. I have never made hummus before and never purchased Tahini, so I can't compare it to any other brand. That said, I think it made a hummus which was as tasty as Sabra's, and maybe even preferable in my opinion. I can't say that any other brand wouldn't have been just as good. Just saying that I was not disappointed in any way with how it performed for the purpose I needed it.I don't know what this is supposed to look like, but I stirred it a lot and there was still some "more solid" potions that could not be mixed. In other words, the oil seemed to predominate but there was also a lot of peanut butter consistency material in there and I did not know what I was supposed to use for my 2 tablespoon fulls of Tahini. What I used wound up having the same consistency of a wet yogurt. I don't know what the "bottom of the jar" will look like, but hope I get to make a lot of hummus from this jar.

Tasty Tahini
We call it Techina, but whatever you call it this is an excellent product. Arrived quickly, well packaged. The glass jar doesn't influence the flavor -- much better than metal packaging. Tahini is thick, smooth, full of sesame flavor. Mixed with lemon juice, garlic, parsley and then thinned with water to desired consistency, it's a lovely, healthy dressing for many foods.

As an Armenian cook of many years, I needed a jar of Tahini as i had run out and forgot to pick up another jarcwhen visiting family in Glendale. This product is not acceptable for hummus, disappointing !
