Pretty neat little toy
Pretty neat little toy! Very useful and helpful. Tried it on three different antennae. Not cheap and here are some improvement suggestions:* why does the US version only offer polar and not Smith charts?? Should be selectable, please pay the license fees or whatever that prevents US version from having it. Photos and description shows Smith charts so I feel this is false advertisement, I am left having to use sub-quality polar plots instead just because I reside in US.* for the range, why display it in KHz?? Something like 1058395KHz is very difficult to digest compared to simply 1.06GHz. Screen resolution is not that high anyway* keypad is water proof, but hard to use. Like a cheap remote control. Please improve button type and quality* calibration documentation does not match actual software behavior. Doesn't discuss things such as is cal calid for only one feequency? Is cal stored in memory? Do I have to re-cal every time I want to use it?* external battery charger is included but has German power plug on it. What gives?? Why not use USB power for battery charging instead and use cost saved to include better batteries such as AA size lithiums etc? They are available.* a bit more technical background to more obscure measurements with examples would be realky appreciated. Such as why would I use paralell versus series L/C equivalent data? What are advantages one way or another? How to interpret polar or Smith charts, etc* the cursor in SWR plot mode shows frequency when moved left/right. Why doesn't it show SWR value at cursor as a numerical value?? One must guess from low-res plot.* when in SWR value mode freq+/- moves the frequency too slowly. It takes a long time to scan up and down to interesting limits such as upper and lower 2.0 SWR frequencies. Why not add an auto mode that shows lower limit at 2.0, best SWR frequency, and upper frequency at 2.0 limit etc?Good job, nice product.

Great device, but buy another battery charger/cable
Excellent device: easy to use, great clear display, accurate results. Especially love the multi-swr mode (give it 5 frequencies, shows swr for all of them simultaneously)4* as it’s let down a little bit by the quality of the battery charger cable: it includes what looks like a Europlug cable (two round pins), and an adapter for standard US wall sockets; the adapter is very low quality, picky about which sockets it will work with at all, and about the angle it’s inserted at, and as it moves under gravity, disconnects by itself and stops charging. This would be perfect if they’d included a $3 real US power cable - recommend ordering one with it - the charger takes the molded figure-8/shotgun connector.- KN6GHH

Great investment for anyone working with HF/VHF/UHF antennas
Extremely useful analyzer if you need the higher frequency range. The unit itself is built to last. The device is very easy to use and best of all it can be re-calibrated to a specific frequency (provided you have the necessary reference loads.) The device offers a firmware upgrade option but my unit already came with the latest version.I purchased the AA-1400 specifically because I needed the higher frequency range. The unit is quite accurate and measurements seem to be consistent. From what I've read from other experts, the accuracy of this unit matches that of the lab-grade analyzers that cost several thousand dollars. One feature of the AA-1400 that isn't often discussed is that you can switch the color LCD to simply a high-contrast B&W version -- which for me was highly preferred. I didn't need the extra colors. I'm not sure if doing this will save battery power but my AA-1400 has been used quite a bit and I'm still on the original charge. The AA-1400 does come with a N connector, so purchasing **quality** adapters is highly recommended. The AA-1400 does come with a N to SO-239 adapter. The AA-1400 also comes with a very nice protective case. The device can be used while in its case thanks to the clear pastic cover. It's not a waterproof case but it's better than nothing. The case also has metal hooks for the included strap for tower work. Other included accessories are AA rechargeable batteries, charger and USB cable for PC connectivity. The AA-1400 can be use with a PC (Windows, Mac, Linux) in a "real-time" mode or measurements can be saved for later analysis. The software is a free download. I didn't have any issues with the software. The software can provide users with valuable test data. The AA-1400 is costly but the included features and accessories make it an excellent buy.

Great hardware especially when paired with a Windows PC
This is a great antenna analyzer and extremely powerful when connected to a Windows PC. I truly wish though that Rig Experts had an Android Companion app such as AntScope that would work in co junction with an USB OTG cable. Making it possible to have a field unit with easier control or ability to run saved settings easily.
