Q: I have salt and pepper hair, pepper is very dark. How will this color my hair? Will it be a uniform color?

It will most likely not be a uniform color. The best results are achieved when it is applied to hair that is uniform in color, preferably pre-lightened to a uniform color.

Q: Does this stain skin badly?

It will stain skin so it is recommended that gloves and a bowl and brush are used when applying it. It does not stain worse than other semi-permanent haircolor though.

Q: How well dows this work on dark hair? I would like a very purple color but would prefer not to bleach

It will not lift (lighten) the color of your hair at all, so depending on how dark your hair is it unfortunately may not product a visible result. My suggestion would be to find your natural/starting hair color level (1-10) which you can do by searching "hair color level chart" online, and then comparing it to the listing photo with the color swatches. The number above each swatch indicates the color level of the hair prior to application of Velvet. Also, you could dye your hair with a permanent color that is a couple of shades lighter than your natural hair color as an alternative to pre-bleaching. I hope this helps. Good luck!
