Made in USA, love the craftsmanship, and now is wicked sharp
I’ve got several knives from Buck Knives and the 112 is the younger brother to the 110. I’ve had an older Buck 110 that I got brand new from the early 1980’s, a 3 dot which now I have retired because it has become a collectors item. So I needed a new go-to knife and the new 112 came about a week ago. I decided to give the blade a hand polish treatment to knock off the factory satin finish. 600 wet and dry, 1500, and 8000. I used the sandpaper dry and cut into long thin strips and frequently changed the sandpaper. . It’s turned into a show knife, and I’m not sure how much upkeep it will need to maintain the polish, but it sure looks good. BTW, you can get the same knife already polished from the custom shop for double the price. My sandpaper came in at about $10.00 and absolutely no danger of taking the temper out of the blade with hand polishing. Cheers

Beautiful sturdy knife
Beautiful knife. Very solid. I appreciate the slight curve on the handle near the blade, works like a guard si you can really grip it. The 3” blade length makes it legal to carry in many places but not all—check ahead if you want it as an everyday carry. For me the blade did come paper-cut sharp, but not scary sharp. I could feel a burr on the blade but that’s manageable and I know I’ll be sharpening it as time goes on, looks like that may be a while.I wish there was a size between the 55 and the 112, but at the same time this one is small enough for a men’s pocket, possible sideways on a women’s pocket. And it feels solid without being overly heavy, which I like. The sheaths it comes with is beautiful stiff and sturdy leather with even thick stitching. Mexico has high quality leather, don’t let import rumors dismay you. The knife itself is made in America, which for me adds to the legend of this classic American knife. I highly recommend it—buy and enjoy.

These Knives are Beautiful Artwork and Excellent Knives
These Buck knives are like artwork. So beautiful you don't want to scratch them or even smudge the polished brass or blade. Just the weight of the knives is more than you would anticipate. Great quality build for these knives. I have 2 of the 3 models in this build. Will get the 3rd on soon. Well worth the money paid. You could pay more but not get better quality

Buck quality
What can you say about a Buck knife that hasn’t already been said, high quality and craftsmanship. The price was great. I have a Buck 110 that is forty years old and performs as good as the day it was bought. I had to get the 112

Happy with knife. Be careful, very sharp.
Very happy with buck 112. Everything about it is high quality. Very sharp right out of box. Accidentally bumped blade against my finger tip and got a small cut. Be careful if you buy one. Highly recommend.

Buck 112 Ranger...Smaller Version of the Buck 110 Lockback Folding Knife
I just received my new Buck 112 Ranger Lockblade, Folding Knife this afternoon and a big smile once again came across my face. The Buck 110 Lockblade, Folding Hunter was my hunting, fishing, and camping companion for 40-plus years. Here is the review of the Buck 110 so you know how I feel about it:I was taught growing up in the 50s and 60s that two knives were the pinnacles of American design, manufacturing, and quality. Those two knives were and still are the Ka-Bar and Buck knives. When I opened the box of my new Buck 110 Lockback, Folding Hunter my mind flashed back to the 1970s when I purchased my first Buck 110 and a big smile once again came across my face. The design, function, manufacturing, and quality of my new knife are the same as my first Buck 110. If I could add the same patina as my old Buck 110 proudly displays after more than 40-plus years of use, I would be hard pressed to tell the difference between my old Buck 110 and my new Buck 110 that just arrived this afternoon. I could write more about all the specifications, materials, and terminology but others have covered those aspects very well and what I would say would only be redundant. My old Buck 110 made a lasting impression upon me over decades of hard use and occasional neglect between each hunting, fishing or camping season. Today after cleaning my old and trusty Buck 110 and making her shine as she once did upon taking it out of the box some 40-plus years ago, she's just as beautiful and shows the same dedication of artistic design and superb manufacturing and quality as my brand-new Buck 110 shows just minutes after taking it out of the yellow shipping box. If you demand top-quality and the ‘USA’ manufacturing stamped on your knife, one can never go wrong with the precision craftsmanship and quality that a Buck knife will provide you with for many decades of use. Always remember the many smiles on your face when you open and use your Buck 110.Well, I am just impressed with the Buck 112 Ranger and it's a slightly smaller version of the Buck 110 that has served me so well since the 1970s. It's made with impeccable attention to details and the same high-quality as the Buck 110. I plan on carrying the Buck 112 with me every day for the rest of my life (I'm 63 years old as of this review). I'm sure this knife will handle any task as the Buck 110 has for 40-plus years and still counting. You can always count on a Buck and be very proud having it by your side each and every day. It's made in the USA, too! The sheath is made in Mexico but to Buck's high standards of quality.

A classic for a reason
I bought this because I thought I should get one. My grandpa had a 110 for years and I had used it but I never had one of my own. I have to say that I still prefer a lightweight knife as this one is heavy. Out of the box, the blade was wicked sharp. However, the action was horrible. It was very gritty and there were shavings in the pivot. I had to flush it out a few times and oil it up. Now I know that they are stiff out of the box but there really wasn’t a reason to have all that junk in there. The ergonomics are great. It feels perfect in the hand. It’s also a beautiful knife. The build quality is also fantastic aside from the crud in the pivot area. The lockback is strong and a I have absolutely no worries about this knife coming loose either in the pocket or while using it. It’s a classic for a reason and I’m glad that I have one, although to be honest, it’s not something that I carry every day. I think I’m gonna buy one of the slim versions of this is to try out as an EDC knife, but I can see why so many people still to this day buy one of these. These knives are built great they’re insanely sharp, easy to sharpen and very strong.
