It works exceptionally well for me. I have a great setup
I bought this antenna to see if it would provide at least a decent enough connection with campground hotspots. I paired this with some good WiFi (n male to n female?) cable and a Alfa AWUSO36NH High Gain USB Wireless G / N Long-Rang WiFi Network Adapter, and I have been very pleased with this set up.At one campground I was about 125 yards from their router which was inside of their building. Couldn’t connect with my laptop, but had full signals with the antenna propped on a picnic table and pointed towards the office. At a campground in Tok, Alaska, I was quite a distance (about 250 yards?) from their router, and was told that there was no internet signal in my section. I sat up the antenna on the ground, pointed it towards where I thought the office was, and got a decent enough signal through many rows of trees and through other campers. If I had the antenna higher I’m sure I could have streamed video. I told the manager the next morning that I was able to connect. She was surprised and asked how. I just said that I had a directional antenna 😉.Another time, in Canada, a campground had a very, very, weak signal from only about 30 yards away. I put the antenna on top of my travel trailer’s slide out, aimed it towards the office, and had a full signal. I watched a NetFlix movie that night.I’ve even used the antenna with it sitting inside on my camper table, pointed at a campground office or a Walmart, and had excellent results. There are many more examples, but one final example is a test I did before taking the antenna out on the road. I lived in a mobile home park by a bay and was the 3rd lot from the water. Across a small section of the bay is a peninsula with a city park. I went there and hooked up the antenna, aimed it towards where I thought my mobile home was (about 300 yards away), and, across the water, and through some mobile homes, I was able to connect to my router That was inside my mobile home and I was able to stream video.So... I’ve had very good luck with this antenna, and I would buy it again. Things I don’t like is that it’s large and bulky. But that’s why it’s so damn good. When it comes to antennas, size matters. As does the antenna gain, which this one is 24 dbi. And use the best and shortest amount of cable you can get and afford; you get what you pay for here. You’ll also need a network adapter, and I highly recommend an Alfa AWUSO36NH High Gain USB Wireless G / N Long-Rang WiFi Network Adapter. Don’t forget to purchase a cable adapter for connecting your WiFi cable to the network adapter. I’m looking to devise a mast for the antenna for traveling, and/or a tripod.

Great Antenna
First, our situation. We live in a rural area. We only have one internet service provider that is in our area. They only offer a 2Mb download speed, on a wireless modem. We are lucky if we can get 1Mb or more out of it. I own a business about 2.5 miles away. There we have cable modem with around 60Mb down load speed.I read a little about the using an antenna to do point to point wireless connection. So, after getting very frustrated with our home internet, I purchased two TP-LINK TL-ANT2424B antennas, two TP-LINK TL-WA7210N AP units, a few cables, and bits and bobs for mounting the antennas and grounding them.I was lucky in that I have a close line of site from my work top my house. I have a few power line and some trees a bit in the way. I cannot see the antenna from one place to the other with a monocular, but I can see the building.I installed the antenna and AP unit at the work building. Pointing to the house. I Set the AP unit to a static IP and entered the AP name and MAC address for the unit I was going to install at my house. The quick setup for the TL-WA7210N was very easy to use. I then set the unit of at my house. Again making sure it was pointing the best I could to the work building antenna, at least in the right direction. I entered the AP name and MAC address of the AP unit at work. I was very surprised and it connected right away. After a few tests I had great signal and great speed. I made a few adjustments to settings on the AP unit. I do not have the full 60Mb down load speeds, but it ranges greater then 35Mb up to over 50Mb. So, I am very happy.TP-LINK TL-ANT2424B 2.4GHz 24dBi Directional Grid Parabolic Antenna, N Female connector, weather resistantTP-LINK TL-WA7210N High Power Outdoor Wireless N150 Access Point, 2.4GHz 150Mbps, WISP/AP Router/AP, 12dBi antenna, Passive POE
