It's excellent quality, but please read my review.
What I like most about this tahini is the color and the smooth texture. It is REALLY black. Like, crazy black. So it just looks really cool. It reminds of black caviar. As I said, I also like the texture. Once stirred, its very smooth and has same thickness of other high quality tahinis. As far as the flavor goes, I do think the regular tahini tastes a little better. I'm not docking a point because this could just be something that goes with the territory of black sesame seeds. I don't know. But I just wanted to give a heads up that the flavor is somewhat different. It could be a matter of personal taste as far as which kind is better. I'm sure I'll buy it again, but the regular tahini will probably be my go to.

A Staple in My Pantry
I've been on a health kick lately, and Kevala's Organic Black Tahini has become a staple in my kitchen. The 2-pound bottle is massive, and even with my generous use, it lasts me a good two months. This tahini is seriously oily, which I didn't expect at first, but it just goes to show how natural it is - the oil separates because there are no additives to keep it emulsified.I use it in everything from dressings to dips, and it gives a rich, nutty flavor that's so much more intense than the regular stuff. And let's talk about the color - it's a deep, striking black that makes any dish stand out. It's almost a conversation starter when I have guests over. What I love the most is the wholesome, healthy feeling I get after including it in my meals. It's packed with nutrients, and you can tell by the taste that it's a high-quality product. Plus, being organic is a huge bonus for me, aligning perfectly with my aim to eat cleaner and more sustainably. In summary, if you're on the fence about trying black tahini, I'd say go for it, especially Kevala's. It's a hearty, healthy addition to any meal, and a bottle will last you ages. Plus, it's a simple way to add some dramatic flair to your cooking! Five stars all around.

Absolutely NOT 100% black sesame
The ingredients only list black sesame, and as someone who has made black tahini this is like water when it should be thicker than peanut butter. This was a nightmare to work with and made a recipe I make regularly way worse. This is an awful product and the contents are a lie

Black Sesame Tahini
This is the first time we have had black tahini. We ordered both the Kevala organic black unhulled and their regular in 8lb. pails. Upon receipt we transfer the tahini to pint glass jars and store in a cool dark environment. The 8lb. pails were cost effective for us.Both were definitely fresh as they were still well blended without much settling. They did not need to be stirred like peanut butter that's been sitting for a while. The black unhulled tahini is different from the regular that we are used to. The color is striking, and it took a few days to get used to it.I prefer the black unhulled over the regular tahini, my wife prefers the regular.I equate the black color with its nutrient density. The flavor is similar to regular tahini but a little richer. The Kevala black tahini is unhulled which also adds to its nutrient base.It is a more nutrient dense food than the regular hulled type. The black unhulled contains more antioxidants. If I may quote Healthline, “All sesame seeds contain antioxidants and healthy plant chemicals, but black sesame seeds appear to be a particularly rich source (16Trusted Source, 23Trusted Source, 24Trusted Source).Black sesame seeds also contain sesamol and sesamin, two potentially anticancer compounds. We use it for hummus and mix it with our morning oatmeal, kefir/yogurt, some salad dressing, etc. I prefer it right out of the jar.We like tahini in general, but in my opinion the unhulled black organic is the best.Kevala is a quality brand.
