They don't last forever. (about 3 to 6 months of daily use.) However, they are more reliable that previous versions I have used. So I gave them 5 stars due to at least being better than the competition. And a good value for the price.

Worked Beautifully!

These pieces are critical to allow my magnetic cable to charge my phone. I enjoy not having to plug in a cord every time. These small inserts only last about 3-4 months before needing to be replaced. I would prefer they lasted longer, but I’m glad to have the extras for when they do burn out.

While I love using these in my iPhone for charging, the rest of the family does not. The major drawback is they need to be inserted properly, they are not unidirectional. If the black side is not facing up, it will not charge. The second issue is somehow my daughter lost about 4 of these claiming they just came out. I have not had that issue. My wife doesn't like needing a special cable, she uses/borrows any cable that is around to charge her phone. I love it because no one is taking my cable for their own. I can easily connect, even with one hand. My cables have a blue LED so I can find the end of the cable in the dark and know that they are connected to power. They disconnect when the phone gets to the end of the cable, like when you pick up the phone and walk away not realizing it's connected. The port does not degrade with repeated connections/disconnections. I have a cable by my bedside, in my car, and at the many computer locations I dock my laptop at. These cables are always there because no one can "borrow" them to charge their phones. Always ready to charge when needed.

This is just one more thing that is fun but do we really need them? no, but they are sweet. Word of caution, make sure you read the instructions regarding the proper way to plug them in.

Metal prong that goes into the phone breaks off if you try to take it back out all 5 are now in the trash.
