No idea how people are using this? - Updated...
It's basically unuseable. Maybe if someone scrapes a tiny bit with their fingernail and applies it to the end of a twirled mustache it might work. I had to use the end of the comb with force, to shave off a slice and then place that into the lid and apply high heat from the hairdryer and it still barely softened.Applying it to my mustache was a whole different problem and I'd probably get the same experience melting candle wax and working it in, instead. I'm not sure if its meant to be this hard to use as compared to the brands that have trouble holding the hairs in place but its certainly not a go to for me. Which means putting up with the locally purchased brand instead since it kind of works. Two different extremes. It would be nice if somebody made something in between that held throughout the day but wasn't still like cold candle wax after trying to work with it.I'd send it back, but it might just get sold again as an open product.Update: about two weeks later...The company saw my negative 1 star review above and promptly reached out for my address to be able to ship me something as a replacement. I previously ordered the tin with extra firm hold and couldn't use it as described above. They decided, free of charge, to send me two of their 'chapstick' versions, one with a medium hold, and the other with the same extra firm like the previous tin.Considering that they retail these sticks for $16 each, that's saying a lot for customer service.I've only begun to use them and try each one out but so far they are a better experience than the tin was, since I couldn't get anything to come out of it. The extra firm stick is likely waterproof as it lasted through a few showers. I think I prefer the medium hold, which for the most part has held through the day, moreover if I'm careful with recombing now and then. As this can also break the hold more generally. Now, with any of the waxes I've tried recently, I find that heating them up with a hairdryer and applying them and then combing them along with heat touch ups seems to work best. As for the dispensing in a tube versus a tin, the hair dryer seems to make quick work of the end, to soften it, where it can then be applied more easily.I've also heard that the mustache should be free of moisture as that might also reduce the hold, when applying it.I'm not sure about the price difference here between the tin and the stick version, since you get 2 oz. in the tin, but it does seem to work better, so far.I'm changing my rating to 5 stars due to the things mentioned above.

The effect of climate, heat and humidity.
I find that it works very well IF you respect the climate. South Florida summer heat softens it considerably. However, in the cooler months the regular hold is fine. Do not forget that you are applying in an air conditioned house and going outside where it is 20 degrees or more warmer. The Southwest must be even harder cope with.

Overall great, but it is DENSE.
Great hold and a nice natural scent. It keeps my mustache in place without feeling too stiff or greasy. I do wish it was a little easier to warm up and apply, but once it’s in, it does the job really well. Solid product overall!

Not for me
Very very hard to work with. It's technically unscented but sort of smells like glue. It weirdly spreads decently well on the facial hair but it sticks to fingers really bad. Doesn't look very good either, it's not smooth. Likely won't be using it anymore unfortunately. I guess what I'm really after is more like a pomade or a leave in conditioner combined with some hold and being right under the nose a nice scent is better than this glue scent. Also no tool to get the extremely hard wax out. I used a guitar pick to get it out and it took a ton of warning up to get it to work.Nice made in USA but wax might just not be a very good facial hair styler
