The bell + and bell - are normally open contacts that can be used to replace the hardwired doorbell button if you wish. You just run the two wires from where the old button was to these connections. This may not be applicable in all installations. I am using mine to lock a gate and use the combination part to unlock. The fobs work extremely well and I am very satisfied.
