Unfortunately it's just ok
It's really unfortunate, I was really excited to receive the item and don't get me wring the cards are great to practise with, the only problem is you don't get enough tutorials with it to actually start you off I cardistry

Misleading Description not 25 card tricks.
The cards are of good quality, and when you factor in the price of two decks of Copag then price wise this set is not too bad value for money. If your child is interested in card magic however I feel there is better teaching material on the market, the booklet is very basic with no diagrams or pictures. I would not say this is a basic beginner’s booklet. The advert is incorrect you do not get “25 card tricks” you get 15 tricks in the booklet; the video link shows performance only videos and not “Video Tutorials”.One of the routines requires a rather technical card movie that is not described anywhere in the booklet.Overall, the cards are nice but they are higher quality cards on the market and the instruction booklet lacked detail

Good starter set, lots of fun
Is this set going to turn you into the next David Copperfield? Probably not, but everyone has to start somewhere! As a family we had some fun with this simple set. It’s recommended for ages 8 and up. My 10 year old nephew had a lot of fun with this, he likes strategy games and needs to know the rules to things, so he took great delight in the fact that he knew how the trick was done and we didn’t!The instruction booklet is pretty good, he had no problem following it, but some diagrams wouldn’t have hurt to go with it.The online tutorials were good to move on to but also there are many other tutorials online you can use to extend your repertoire of tricks. I think one of the things I liked most about the set was that it’s one of those things that really can’t be replicated online. You have to be very in the moment and just enjoy it, which we did. It’s a reasonable price compared to other similar sets I’ve seen, a good stocking filler and starter set for kids and adults.

Great packs of cards but needs more in terms of teaching you tricks.
Well-presented and appealing yet all you get are two packs of cards. These are good quality and look and feel great but it is a bit lacklustre in 'teaching' you anything.Don't get me wrong, it is not a bad bundle but I feel it is over-selling itself. All it needs to do to be excellent value for money and an actual way to 'Master the Art of Card Magic' is a clearer booklet with pictures. Better explanations and more, different tricks. They link you to their own videos but I could find better content for free so to make this worth-while, they need to make their content top-notch both in the booklet and online.

Pick a Card, Any Card
'The Institute of Cardistry Card Magic' feels very much set in the world of magic as you are not sure whether you have been tricked or not when you buy it. Essentially, the box contains two sets of cards and a booklet that tells you some tricks. You also get an access code to some online tutorials, but you can get something similar online. So, what are you paying for? That little bit extra, the magic, the spark. The box is nice and it will act as inspiration for a young wannabe magician. The value is not all in the cards, but the fact that it feels like a magic set. The cards themselves are basic, but well made. The booklet has plenty of tricks, but you will need to sit down and concentrate on them to get the most from the set. My kids loved the idea of the card tricks, which is the point of this set.

A good place to start learning card tricks.
The Institute of Cardistry Card MagicIn the box.You get two card decks, a simple guide, a code to link to a website with more detailed instructions.Quality.The cards are stiff and plastic coated so should last well. The basic instructions are useful but the most detailed descriptions come from the website which is really essential to hook up to.Using.We had fun trying some of the tricks and they are relatively easy to learn. There are more advanced ones on the site but we were not very good at these, a bit ham-fisted with the cards!Overall.A good starter set for anyone interested in learning card tricks. We had some fun with this and that’s what it is all about. The accompanying website was very good.

Useful primer
This set makes a good way of sparking or furthering an interest in card magic among children of perhaps 10+. My grandson is 10 and found most of the instructions easy enough to follow. It’s always useful to have something in print and the book, while quite basic and, rather surprisingly, unillustrated, makes a pretty good start. It also takes you to online videos, using a code in the book. Mind you, I’m not sure they’re much superior to the free videos to be found on the internet.Other than the book and online videos, you just get a couple of decks of cards. They’re good, slippery, plastic-finished cards. Each deck has a double-back card for particular tricks but that’s the extent of the specials. Still, the set is nicely presented, so makes a good gift and seems reasonable value at £9.99.
