Nice grinder. But concerned about spare parts support. Phone number may or may not be the answer.
This grinder is a beast! It powers through pounds of chuck steaks in no time without hesitation. It seems well built for the task of grinding meats and the #12 size accommodates larger pieces of meat. Easy to assemble/disassemble and washing is easy as well. The only negative so far is the lack of any reference to spare parts if needed. Searching on line I found it difficult to locate parts for this specific machine. I believe the manufacturer/distributor should have addressed spare parts in the instruction manual. I'd hate to think that if the grinder blade gets dull or lost I'd have to buy a whole new unit. So one star off for lack of obvious parts support. If the manufacturer/distributor contacts me and lets me know about parts I'll revise my review.REVISION: Okay, the manufacturer/distributor contacted me and gave me a phone number ( 201-785-8840) to call if a part is needed. This is their general number shown in the user guide. So, I'll upgrade to 5 stars for now because the grinder works so well. I still believe the user guide should address spare parts but, hey, I'm just a customer and what do I know.

Hand wash it unless you like that raw aluminum look
It is made of aluminum with a stainless screw, blades, and plates. Hand wash it unless you like that raw aluminum look. It doesn't hurt anything if it loses its finish, but be warned that it will go from a silver finish to a grey aluminum finish if it gets run through the dishwasher. It functions great and is a little Chinese godsend. YES it is loud. If you are looking for a quiet meat grinder, do yourself a favor and don't buy a motorized unit. YES I would recommend it and will buy another one when the time comes to replace it.

Awesome grinder.
I have never written a review before, but felt this product was so outstanding I had to share my experience. I reviewed many meat grinders before I selected this one. I wanted a machine that would make the meat grinding process trouble-free. I read many reviews that talked about chilling the meat in the freezer so it would feed easier. So..... when I received this grinder, I followed those instruction . The first project was a pork shoulder. I cut the meat into 1 inch chunks and chilled the grinding screw and barrel. I did not put the meat in the freezer because some had warned that freezing for too long could cause the meat to dry out. This machine had no trouble at all with the grinding of that pork shoulder. My second project involved a mixture of pork and beef (chuck). I placed the grinding components in the freezer for 5 minutes while I prepared the meat. This time I cut the meat into 1/2 wide by 3 inch long pieces to see what would happen. Well......this grinder tore through that meat without even slowing down! I think that the meat can be as big as you want as long as it fits into the throat of the unit. This machine is a beast! clean-up is very easy and takes only a few minutes. I could not be happier.

Used it twice and it worked great. 3rd time around
I ordered this on may 3rd and it showed up on time. I even bought the asurion protection plan for it. Used it twice and it worked great. 3rd time around, while raw food was inside the grinder, the rotor stopped spinning. it was already broke. I called the protection plan, and they told me there is a manufacture warrenty with Magic mill and to call them. I called magic mill/ROyal lux? and some guy got the information and was going to re-order it for free from amazon for me. So far nothing. No confirmation email, nothing. I called them back and a different guy writes down my information and tells me they will call me back. Basically i spent 119 dollars + another extra from the protection plan and there is absolutely no protection for this item. Such poor customer service.

My dogs will love this
I just received this a couple of days ago and tried it this morning. My main reason for buying this is feeding my dogs and cats raw. While my larger ones get whole pieces of leg quarters of chicken , my smaller furkids can`t always chew this , and also the older ones with less teeth can`t handle drumsticks or even wings. We do have a rescue and have a lot of mouths to feed, so we will have to wait and see how it will hold up. Until now I have been chopping with Cleavers and I spent about an hour a day just to chop up enough meat for my smaller babies . I did grind enough this morning to last me a couple of days and it only took like 10 minutes of grinding . When a bigger drumstick bone goes in, you can hear it straining just a tad, but generally it was flawless , but you have to pre-chop the chicken, because the opening is too small to put in whole leg quarters. I love reading reviews and I generally think, that some of the negative ones stem from not assembling it correctly and the lack of good instructions . I did read very carefully and also watched some youtube videos, to get an idea , so I truly believe it should come with better instructions . Cleaning is a breeze, I rinsed in hot water and then soaked it a couple of minutes in soapy hot water and let it dry . If it holds up, (and I will revise review, if anything goes bad) it sure is a great buy for the price , so I have to give it the best rating, because it is a steal for that price. So, I need to update this as of 3/9/18 . After only a couple months of usage it is on it`s way to quitting, I believe. It slowly increases times, where it will shut off during grinding. I only use it about once a week now, for about 20lbs of chicken . At first it shut off once during grind, but just yesterday while trying to grind 10lbs of chicken, it shut off about 6 times . I guess it`s a matter of a couple of weeks before it will quit for good. I knew it wasn`t a "forever" grinder, but only 2 months and no extensive use .... very disappointed
