800W Electric Jug Stainless Steel Soup Maker Machine Blender with 56 Oz Capacity

Buyer beware. I suspect these other 5-star reviews are dubious - bought for. If you are one of those reviewers and you genuinely have a great product then I apologize for smearing your name but this thing is a POS. In this day and age, it's not likely that a person would receive two defective products especially a product that has such a simple task as heating and blending. We're not talking about a NASA robot collecting samples on Mars, we're talking about a soup maker. It heats, and it blends only in my case it doesn't even blend (without being manually instructed to do so by pressing the pulse button). Nope, something stinks here. Stay away from this thing.UPDATE (10/27/2016):After complaining so much :) to my parents about this POS they took it upon themselves to send me a different one. They live in the UK, I am in the USA. It arrived today and worked exactly as expected i.e., it heated the contents AND blended automatically. If anyone wants to know what unit I have now, drop me a line but I won't shill it out in the public comments. If the seller of the POS that I had to return twice ever wants to send me a free unit to test again, I am more than happy to but I won't pay for it again.UPDATE (10/12/2016):I received my replacement unit today and tried making some vegetable soup but had the exact same problem as I did with the first unit. I place the ingredients in the jug, fill with water so that everything lies between the MIN and MAX setting, press the ON button then the Smooth Soup button. About 25 minutes later I hear a few beeps but there has been NO blending. I have just started cycle 2 to see what happens but I'm afraid I've had it with this make / model (cycle 2 completed - no blending. Cycle 3 just started on Chunky Soup setting, just to see - about 10 minutes in and still no blending. Pulse blending works just fine). Apparently everyone else loves their unit but if I have to run the cycle multiple times I am just as well making soup in a pan with an immersion blender (and the reason I bought this thing was to set it and forget it). I will try a different brand and see what happens.Original rating: 3 starsUpdated rating: 1 starI've made two soups so far and in both instances I needed to run the cycle again because the blender didn't blend the first time around. All it did was heat the contents. I've been careful not to overfill the jug and even though the blades rest in the veggies it's not crammed in there so tight that the motor cannot turn the blades. Soup #2 is cycle 2 as I type and I haven't heard it blend yet but I know it's supposed to take about 10 minutes before the first pulse. This is on smooth mode by the way. If soup #3 fails to blend first time around then this is getting returned.Update: I will be returning this for a new one. Summary of my experiences:Soup #1: heated up contents but did not blend. ran it through another cycle and it blended.Soup #2: heated up contents but did not blend. reran cycle but did not blend. ran it a 3rd time and it blended.Soup #3: heated up contents and made blending noises but when cycle completed it was still liquid and chunks. running a second cycle now but it doesn't matter what happens, it should make soup correctly the first time. (second cycle completed and it blended this time).This is all on smooth mode.

I discovered this machine whilst in England and bought this one as soon as I returned home. I am a vegan, and I love soup so this has become my favorite appliance. I make a different batch of soup almost every day. It is quick, easy and super simple to clean. My mom has since bought one and two of my friends already want one for Christmas. I highly recommend this product!

the idea is good, the result left something to be desired. Tried a recipe, carrot ginger soup. the carrots did not get cooked enough I took them out of the machine and cooked them in the microwave, then put them in a blender with liquid ..this was what I was hoping this machine would take care of..all these dishes to wash.. end result on this recipe..good recipe bad result with this machine.I am going to try some other soups in it and see if it works with other recipes. It isn't a total loss, as it does heat water.

Well pleased but blender does not come on as programmed. Discovered today that either wiring has been done wrongly or buttons put on wrongly as it does pulse when on the 'chunky' setting. Soups have been excellent - hope Amazon can let the manufacturer know of the problem.

I was so excited to try this soup maker but I'm very disappointed because it doesn't seem to work how it's supposed to. The 'smooth soup' option doesn't blend. It's supposed to blend three times during smooth soup mode, and while the soup did cook, the blender part never turned on. The pulse option worked so it wasn't a total loss, but it's definitely not functioning as it should. I will be returning.

We were so excited about this, but ultimately it just doesn't work very well. It quit blending smooth soups automatically after the 2nd use. We can use the pulse button to get around this but there is always lots of chunks on the bottom that are impossible to get. Almost always have to run the whole thing twice because it's never cooked enough when it says it's done. Really wish I had gotten my husband something else for Christmas :(

Awesome product! Does what it claims in mins.

Made my first batch of soup today, and it was very simple and quick. Add ingredients, press a button and about 20 minutes later great tasting soup. Clean up is relatively easy, just wish the jug was detachable. I think I'll get one for my sister
