User Friendly
I have used this product for approximately 6 years and it has been such a solid product. It really is user friendly - meaning anyone can use it and get good results. What I like about it is that It seems to level out even if you accidentally apply too much material it levels out nicely…. And it drys quickly. I’ve seen product hold up in direct uv and wet conditions.I have noticed however that this newly labeled “warm satin” is definitely on the low end of sheens - it’s not like your typical satin sheen. Also, be prepared to wash your brush well- soap and water … but you still end up with a stiff brush because of the oil component in the material. In all - a great product!! I would recommend this product

Packing? Wha packing?
The product is really good. Goes on smoothly, leaving a very flat finish with no bubbles. Dry time is realaively short. Very easy cleanup. The reason for three stars is the gallon of poly was put in a large, makeshift box with no packing at all, along with another loose item that came with the order. The gallon can was bouncing around inside the box and was quite beat up, with the handle off. I reattached it so no foul, but think of a 9 pound can of polyurathane bounding around in a box three times its size with no packing material. I can't imagine the mess that would have made.

Not having the problems others have cited.
Important mahogany stairs project, would have paid for a premium varnish but this less expensive option was specifically recomended for floors and seemed to have similar reviews to others that were up to twice as expensive.Details: I am in Kalifornia so can't even get some alternative products. Coating individual stair treads, indoors so working time was not an issue. Used foam brush on final coat, clean up with water was great, nice satin finish. Can't speak to durability yet but it is a yellow product so might hesitate on very light wood. I also like the Helmsman water based varnish which is very clear, (once i got used to the VERY short working time) so this slower cure hybrid was actually easier.

A Big Disappointment
This stuff is terrible. I WANTED to like this product and it has much less of the awful, overpowering smell of oil based polyurethane. Have applied polyurethane before so not a total newbie at application. It dries SO fast that it makes it difficult to not have streaks. Was redoing my wood floors. Ended up having to re-sand entire floor, which required re-renting floor buffer (extra expense), extra time, effort and lots more wood (& now polyurethane) flying everywhere. Then had to go through the process of getting all the dust off the floors, window sills, base boards, etc. before redoing the floor with oil based polyurethane.

Love this stuff, Shrinks too fast. Not for sprayer
I like this product, but it has some very difficult reactions sometimes. Now I am using this on paint. It can't be sprayed and whether spraying on thick or thin it shrinks, creating scaling. It's a pain to get rid of but it does eventually level out. I've used about 10 gallons of this stuff in the last 4 months. I appreciate what it does. I would love some support with this process. If there's a recommended product for a sprayer. I plan to use many more gallons here soon. Thanks
