Double check if the Receiver Learn Code Button it's working on your garage opener, also make sure your garage door is CLOSED before programming your new remote.

Programming a new remote deactivated your old remote?

Maybe your opener's memory is full. Try erase garage opener's memory according to motor unit manufacturer, then program again your old remote and your new remote.
