Makita XPS01PMJ 36V (18V X2) LXT Brushless Cordless 6-1/2" Plunge Circular Saw Kit (4.0Ah)

I’m a nearly 70 year old retiree who enjoys woodworking. But age was making it tough to handle full sheets of 3/4” plywood, and obtain straight edges on my tablesaw. I compared tracksaw options, and decided this cordless option was my best bet. The track is straight and true, easy to combine into longer sections, and the rubber backer sticks to the sheet, so no need for clamps. The saw is light, very smooth, easy to set depth of cut, clips to the track, and the dual batteries provide a lot of cutting time. I find the cuts so accurate and clean, I often do my final cuts with it, instead of simply using it to break down sheets. Saves my time and my back.

I've honestly never written an Amazon review before this one... but WOW. Like many others have said, I don't know why I didn't purchase this sooner. I had tried a different track saw (which broke on the first use) and watching reviews online ended up going with this one. So glad I did. I was giddy with the first cut. Much quieter than any other saw I've used - which is great as I work in my garage. Accurate, clean cut with the stock blade. Well worth the purchase.

This saw is an absolute wonder to use; it exceeded my expectations. It’s lightweight, easy to use and the cuts are laser precise. I was reluctant to drop this kind of cash on a saw I probably didn’t “need”, but now I feel like I wouldn’t want a shop without one. I’ve since bought into the Makita 18v platform and so glad I did. Their router and subcompact drill/driver are such a pleasure to use. Also, the 36v rear handle is a great addition. 10/10 would Makita some more :)

This saw is a beast. Not only is it the best saw I’ve ever used it’s the best tool I’ve ever used. It’s flawless in every sense. Cuts beautifully, glides like butter on my powertec tracks. Batteries run all day. Took me a year to pull the trigger on this but I can confidently saw it’s the best tool I own.

Beautiful cuts, runs all day, quiet and clean. Paired this with a Makita dust extractor and there is almost no clean up. So much safer than my table saw and so much easier to use. Works great with powertec tracks. Start here. Add a table saw when you figure out what you can't do with this, a miter saw and good router... you might just never need the table saw.

Very seldom do I get Giddy when using a new tool. I have a pretty impressive setup in my shop. However, this Makita track saw made me giddy!I have two table saws and 3 circular saws along with miter saws, bandsaws, planers, jointers etc. THIS is my new favorite tool. It could easily cause me to sell at least one table sawI spent the last two days cutting out cabinets with this saw and all I can say is wow.It was perfectly square and well adjusted right out of the box. It is much lighter than I anticipated (I have a worm drive saw that is twice it’s weight).Unboxed it, charged the batteries, assembled the 2 55” inch tracks (separate purchase) and began ripping 3/4” birch plywood like there was no tomorrow. I’m on my sixth sheet (along with 2 sheets of MDF) and the batteries are still over half full.This saw is POWERFUL (36V) and very quiet. My Skilsaws are easily 3 times louder. You can rip 3/4 birch as fast as you’d like, it eats it quickly and the resulting edge finish is much better than factory edges.If you breakdown sheet goods, DO NOT HESITATE on this Makita saw!BTW this is my first Makita purchase. I’m a yellow and black and Bosch guy, but as I replace systems, I’m taking a hard look at Makita!

I’m a full time carpenter & home renovator and I Absolutely Love This Thing! I hesitated for so long before I finally bit the bullet and decided to purchase this track saw and man, is it nice! Something that I’ve not seen many reviews mention is how quiet it is.It cuts through Doors like butter and makes cutting large sheets of plywood a breeze. Can’t be happier. 10 Stars!
