Q: What are the product dimensions? What size fountain?

The fountain holds 4 gallons of water AND the filters fit in the top - they are approx 1 1/2" x 1 1/2" square. I am a multi pet household - therefore the 4 gallons is great!

Q: What happens if I don’t change it but every three months? Just like my water filter it’s easier to remember that way.

I didn’t change mine for a few months and didn’t really notice a difference. I finally remembered to buy them and replaced them.

Q: Do you remove the plastic from the filter

Each filter is individually wrapped in plastic. Remove the plastic wrapping around the filter and rinse the filter under running water for several seconds to rinse out any fine carbon particles. Then the filter is ready to be used!

Q: Has anyone noticed that the charcoal is leaking into the water dish, sometimes in large amounts? How safe is this for cats to drink?

Hello, Prior to use, be sure to rinse the filter under cold water. Once water runs clear, place filter back in cap section with flat side upwards then apply filter strap across top. Regards,
