Just what she wanted!
What a refreshing relief! My 13-year-old daughter loves it. I am so happy---I loved Seventeen when I was a teen and read it voraciously for years! But it has certainly changed! Back in the day (looooong time ago), Seventeen didn't run articles about sexual positions and detailed info about contracting STDs and birth control. I'm no prude, but I know my daughter and she isn't dealing with any of this yet and doesn't need or want this information, and it is forced on her EVERYWHERE---in the media, at school, everywhere. It is just so sad how young girls are hypersexualized at such young ages even by forces considering themselves proactive do-gooders. This magazine is for the teenager who wants to know about fashion, beauty, fitness and what's trendy in movies (PG-13--yes!), music (young women artists--yes!) and books (lots of women authors--yes!) for young people. I'm not jazzed about the massive amount of advertising and products, but that's standard in women's publishing, so if you can get past all that, this celebrates diversity and creativity in girls and is very upbeat and fun. Nice work, Justeen LLC.If you are looking for something more serious, intellectual and not beauty/fashion/ad focused, I would recommend New Moon Girls magazine also. It is much more expensive, though, of course, because it is not subsidized by advertisers.

Classy and Mature
I love this magazine!! It's classified as a teen magazine but I'm in my thirties and I still read it!! I don't really like the magazines that are geared for people that are my age. They are filled with perfume samples that I'll never wear, clothes that cost more than I make, and hair and make-up that, let's face it, only a pro can do. Justine is a mature magazine that's realistic, filled with real issues, real life stories. Yes, it has teens in it but that's fine with me. I love the what's next in movies, tv, and music parts. My favorite thing is the book section. I think that it's so great to find a magazine that supports reading in teens. I'm not talking about a small section either. The magazine is filled with ads for new and old books. It keeps me in the loop of what's new and recommended and for what audiences. Also, this mag is for anyone who doesn't ride the gossip train. Now that I love!!

No longer available in Print format. :(
My 13yo niece loved her print magazine delivered in the mail, but it is no longer available in the print format. It is now only available electronically and she is not allowed on a computer and does not have a kindle. She is very sad and will miss this magazine. Hate to see this happening to many magazines. She had the same experience with her Discovery Girls which also went to only an electronic format. No more print magazines. Very sad.

Really nice magazine
It is a really nice magazine. I got it on my kindle fire . But the only bad thing about it is that in the magazine ( on my kindle ) their are a lot of advertisements . But other then that it is a really cool and inspiring magazine!

Subscribe Only If You Want To Receive Leftover, Unsold Copies!
Customer service is non-existent. We sent THREE messages with the same problem: at the time of this review, we are into the second week of December. Our first issue was supposed to be December 2012. At home, the latest issues of all our other subscriptions are dated January 2013. We see on the Justine website the Justine December 2012 issue already out on the newsstands and has been since the first of December. We have not yet received it. Aren't subscribers supposed to get their issues before it hits the newsstands? In order to get the latest issue, we finally decided to just cancel our subscription and buy directly from the news stands. Honestly, the liberal lean of this magazine is also just a little worrying. The recommended books are geared more for older teens and young adults, rather than middle-schoolers drawn towards it by the feature on celebrities.

girls talking girl talk
The magazine is for teen girls by teen girls. My daughter likes to read the letters section because she can relate to what girls are talking about. I think it helps her to realize that what ever it is she is feeling is normal.

GREAT!
Nice magazine. Just as good as all of the other teen types for girls but much more appropriate. Has popular stars, make-up, fashion, but nothing that would make you raise an eyebrow as in many other teen magazines.

good magazine for teens
Not as good as glasses magazine. Miss the funny stories. Makeup and fashion are always a great topic for teens.
