Works well for blocking craft items, but don't recommend as a cutting mat
UPDATE: I have found this product useful for blocking crocheted items and small quilts because pins can penetrate the cardboard to stretch and form these craft items. I didn't like this item as a cutting mat, however, I have found a good occasional use for it.The overall quality of the product was pretty much as advertised; however, it slips so much on the tabletop or hard floor surface that it is difficult to use. I tried placing things under it to minimize slippage, but it got to the point that it was more trouble than it was useful. My main usage planned was to prevent damage to my wood tabletop when pinning fabrics. I think it would accomplish this, but the constant slipping on the tabletop was not worth the effort to me. I purchased a heavy duty vinyl tablecloth that I hope will better accomplish the task (although, admittedly, the tablecloth has an odor that I hope will dissapate over time).

Forgot how much I used to use this!
These cutting boards have been around for years and I got my first one back in the early 80s.when I did a lot of sewing. But hadn't used one for a few years and need something to protect my wood table top while doing some crafts. My daughter reminded me of my old one and I couldn't believe they still made them and I ordered this one from Amazon. I only gave a four as they are not quite as sturdy as the old one was, but then what is nowadays. Bottom line, every household should have one as you will find something to use it for almost daily! They take up such a small amount of space you can keep behind a door or under a bed but open up to cover a full-size rectangular table and as long as you close the correct way everytime should last for years.

It’s okay, especially for the money
I really don’t know how durable this will be. Only time will tell. Several years ago I had one of these boards, unfortunately I got rid of it. This board is of course more night duty and less flexible than my original. But that’s the way it goes. It’s ok especially for the price. I’m happy.

A Great Notion at a Great Price
I LOVE this cardboard cutting board. I put it on our queen-size bed and I can actually cut out long skirt and pants patterns on it. Before I was using the kitchen table, but that was rather hard on the back. I can also put an extra large cutting mat on top of this cardboard cutting board so I can rotary cut smaller patterns (you just have to be careful to stay within the borders of your cutting mat, so you don't nick the cardboard). It was great to have the grid on it too, and it saved me some time when cutting length for pants and skirts. I love that I can fold up the board and store it when I'm not using it. This is a great value for what you get, and a must-have if you don't have a very large sewing table on which to cut out patterns.

Flimsy. Disappointed. 😞
I was hoping for a fold up measuring board like the one I have. Mine has finished edges, wider by 4" and mine measures up to 2 yards. This one is only 56". Made flimsy as well. Mine is cardboard, as well but sturdier & I have had it for over 30 years. Was getting a new one because my old one is dingy & stained.

fits my needs
I have very little space for cutting and this board is perfect for laying across my bed so that I can spread out my fabric and patterns. It folds up to a nice manageable size for storing upright against a wall although I do have to use a rubber band to keep it closed once it's folded. Other than that, it's fine.

Very thin
I had another cutting board for many years but paint got spilled on it during a renovation so I needed a new one. Thenew one is marked well but it is so light weight that it doesn't lay flat.

average
Not great in my opinion for cutting patterns. The pins stick in the cardboard. I feel this would be better used for crafts with my nieces.
