Great for small family
Absolutely love my waffle maker, great packaging

Fun shaped waffles, but that pour spout..
I'll start by saying the waffle iron part work's great. The waffles came out nice and fluffy and my family loved the volcano shaped waffles. But the pour top, it may eliminate over-flow, however, it doesn't eliminate any extra work in clean up. If anything it creates more. When you pour the batter through, even if you don't over fill it, there is still batter that cooks in the pour top, creating cleanup between waffles. With my first waffle, I was too excited that I was making waffles that I wasn't going to let this affect my review, by a few waffles, it was starting to bother me, by the end of cooking all the waffles, it was annoying enough to make me drop my rating to only 3 stars.Clean up was easy enough on it. The plates don't come off but still super easy to clean. When it was cool enough, I ran a damp cloth over it. But coming back to the pour spout, while still easy to clean, it was still one more thing to clean. I still had a messy counter top. There were all kinds of drips from the batter bowl to the waffle iron, not to mention the syrup that always seems to be running off the plates, so one more thing to clean just added to the mess.My family did love the shape of the Volcanoes, so that was the biggest win on this contraption. It made it different than the waffles you get at the hotels that offer breakfast.Storage is also incredibly convenient. The pour spout tucks up under the machine and it stands on end to minimize space.Overall, if you want fun shaped waffles, this is your unit! If you don't care, you might want to look for a less frustrating model.

Amazing idea! But NOT mess-free
The good:I'll start by commending this product on it's unique design and innovation. The idea of this product is spot-on and that's why I was so excited when I ordered it. With thinner waffle batter, the batter easily fills the entire iron and can make the perfect waffle! The waffles that we made were delicious! The bad:This design definitely does not make for a mess-free experience. Once the batter is poured in and fills the iron, it rises up through the top chamber. Then, when you remove the top chamber/batter reservoir, the uncooked batter drips through the holes in the bottom of the cup all over the machine and countertops. It should have some sort of mechanism to seal off the bottom of the cup once it's removed from the waffle maker, so that when you remove it before opening up the waffle maker, the batter can be easily transferred back to the batter bowl for re-use. Also, the holes that the batter must pass through to get into the waffle iron are not big enough to pass anything but batter, so added ingredients such as chocolate chips and blueberries cannot be included. Lastly, I would have liked to seen a timer of some sort in the form of an indication light or clock to assist in determining how long a waffle should be cooked for.

WHAT A COOL DESIGN, WAFFLES COOK EVENLY & LOOK BEAUTIFUL..PERFECT!
I like the ease of this waffle maker. I purchased it because my children had a tendency to "overfill" the waffle iron most of the time...making clean-up a chore! :-(With this product...I'm happy and the kids LOVE using it!The product heats up within a few minutes...you will see the green light when it has reached the proper temperature (there isn't an on/off switch or a heat temperature gauge). The "filling cone" is a bonus because when you aren't using it...it fits under the bottom of the waffle maker. Great design! Now, you can't misplace it! ;-DThe inner design is unique...it sort of look like a whirlpool funnel. *NOTE: When you initially remove the waffle you will think that the waffle will not lay flat once it's plated...but, don't worry as soon as you lay it down the "cone-shaped" waffle will flatten out (like it's supposed to).I haven't timed how long it takes to cook, but it's about the same time as most standard Belgian waffle irons, I suppose. If you "over-fill" the waffle maker...you'll know because a" tiny" half-baked waffle will still be in the cone at the top. *TIP: Use the measuring cup that comes with the waffle maker to AVOID this (I didn't use one the first time out...I sort of eye-balled it). MY SUGGESTION: USE THE INCLUDED MEASURING CUP THAT"S WHY THEY INCLUDED ONE! :-D

I like this waffle maker
I like this waffle maker, interesting idea to have the water vapor spout at the top (rather than on the sides making everything messy). It takes a bit of trial an error to get perfect waffles, here's what I learned:- the batter needs to be thinner than recommended on waffle box. (e.g, with Krusteaz supreme they recommend for 4-5 waffles 1 1/3 cups of water, I used an extra 1/3 cup)- pour the batter into each of the four holes so that all four quadrants fill equally using the provided cup (if batter is thick enough so that you can't pour batter into each of the 4 holes, then the batter is too thick). This makes for good looking waffles without holes/incomplete quadrants.- pour a little less than the recommended volume in the table of the manual, 150 mL worked pretty well 185 mL was too much and the batter would overflow in the cap which requires extra cleaning between waffle pours (this one may take a bit of practice but always err on the low side and refill a little as the batter starts cooking - you'll see it coming up at the top trying to overflow in the cup).- provided cooking time 3-4 minutes seems correct- use a thin tip chopstick to lift the waffle off from the cooking plate along the front quadrant line. They come off very easily if you used oil when making the batter.

A New Style of Waffle Maker that is *Almost* perfect.
The media could not be loaded. If you're looking for a new waffle maker and want to try something a little bit different than your usual "sandwich press" style waffles which ooze and goop all over the place, maybe this is the waffle maker for you!Pros:I was excited about this waffle maker because it promised to reduce that usual mess that comes with making waffles and getting batter all over the place (not to mention all baked onto the outside of the maker itself). Pouring it into the maker directly seemed like a novel idea so I decided to give it a try. It definitely does reduce mess, there's no doubt about it. Haven't even had to wipe the outside of my maker off once yet, and no mess on the counter. The waffles also bake crispy, with fluffy insides, which is what you want!I hadn't done a tone of research when I first purchased this so I was half expecting it to be some cheaper quality chinese product. I'd never heard of Chefman before. Turns out they make quality stuff! This waffle maker is really good quality build, you can tell by holding it and using it. I ran into a little bit of a problem (more on that below) and turns out Chefman also has great customer service and resource online to help! So that's a plus too.Cons:All that being said, I can't say its a perfect machine. There are three main considerations that I need to adress. The first one is burning. Now I know you can get a steam burn from any waffle maker if you're not careful, but this one seems to be particularly hard to avoid. There are three "cautious hot" stickers and indeed, caution is a must when opening the waffle iron. Somehow, the design makes it so all the hot steam comes steaming out the front as you lift the lid, which happens to be where the button release and handle is to lift the lid. You avoid this by going very slowly, and having your hand as far to the right or left as possible. If you open it just a bit most of the steam escapes the sides, then you can open as normal. Just an FYI.Next little issue is the consistency of the batter. I'm still trying to figure this one out. It needs to be thin, but not too thin, because then it just pools at the bottom and the middle of the waffle are thin and very crispy with no fluff. But if it's too thick, it doesn't all drain down the funnel as it starts baking too soon and clogs up the funnel (which can actually end up being the messiest part). But I think i've pretty close to the right consistency after a few trial and errors. In the end this is only a problem if you want a PERFECTLY round waffle, if you don't mind an X shaped waffle you're fine.Lastly, the funnel. So when you pour the batter in the funnel, especially if the batter is too thick, some of it will stay in the funnel and start baking there. This means than between every waffle you need to gently poke out the baked batter from the bottom of the funnel. Since its baked this isn't that hard, just loosen it and it pops right out (tastes pretty good too). It only becomes a problem if there remains uncooked batter in the funnel, as this needs to be rinsed out.Summary:This design is a great idea! Definitely reduces the usual mess, and once you figure out the right consistency of batter makes great waffles! Beware of burning yourself, and understand that you'll have to clear the funnel between each waffle. If you found this review helpful please let me know by giving it a thumbs up. If you have any questions please ask, I do my best to respond!Keep shopping smart!Jem Rev

Excelente!

Hizo exactamente 6 waffles bien.
