Pleasantly surprised by the clever design of this set of two shoe stretchers
I thought I was buying just one shoe stretcher so I was surprised to find two in the box at this low price. When I ordered these shoe stretchers I wasn't expecting much at this price point, but hoped they were at least good enough to stretch my sneakers just a little to give my toes a bit more room and they successfully did just that. I was impressed by the clever design and adequate quality of these shoe stretchers to get the job done. The instructions are minimal, but are adequate if followed correctly. Just make sure the toe stretcher is set at its narrowest before inserting the entire device into the shoe to ensure it makes full contact at the tip of the shoe. Then turn the black knob knob as instructed to stretch the length of the shoe. Once that is done turn the silver hook (clockwise), to widen the toe box as desired. Be careful not to damage your shoe by over tightening. I allowed 24 hours to stretch my shoes, but others may need more time depending on the material of the shoe.

These did an awesome job stretching them to size as I've done 3 ...
Been using these for a few weeks now and are well worth buying! I bought these because my mother will only wear Earth Shoes as she has alot of issues with foot pain, & she owns several pairs that were too tight on her height wise. These did an awesome job stretching them to size as I've done 3 pair so far! If u buy any shoe stretchers you're supposed to use all shoe stretchers will the use of a shoe stretcher spray. Save yourself some money as after researching online & after buying some they are all literally just a mix of water and alcohol, so just mix some yourself but you're ONLY supposed to spray the INSIDE of the shoe as spraying the outside could result in color change. Many can also be sprayed on the outside if u need alot of stretching but you're doing it at your own risk. U can also use regular water but using the alcohol makes it so it dries much, much faster. The spray can also be used without the use of a stretcher but don't every time I read that I just keep thinking of walking round w/wet feet, though it probably isn't as bad as I'm picturing. One pair of the shoes that I had to stretch needed quite a it of stretching right near the toe too, which these really aren't designed to do as these kind of pivot from the toe point and open at the back separating in between. So I made a small wedge and wedged it under the toe forcing the stretcher on top of the wedge. This did end up working very well also as I didn't want to buy a second type of stretcher that opened at the toe when this style would be more commonly used for us. This can be use only for stretching the height or the length or both at the same time as it can screw in two different ways at the same time if needed. I really didn't know if these were gonna be heavy duty enough as I had only used the very expensive wooden type in the past, but these worked very well and took more pressure then I expected they could. Though if needed you could also stretch it in several phases/sessions if u require alot of stretching or if you're worried about over stretching. I did learn from experience that it's best to leave them to dry for at least 48 hours unless you're gonna wear them immediately as if they're not dry before removing or not worn right away that they can shrink back to size during the remaining drying process. U can also remove them after a day to see if they need to be stretched further but they need to either be put back on the stretcher after to finish drying or need to be worn right away...

Not bad. Could use improvement.
If I were designing this contraption I would do two things: I'd design one for a wide foot and one for a narrow foot. Mine is a B-C and this shoe stretcher fits, but it's a tight fit. If you have an A foot don't buy it. The item works well. There are others available that have more holes drilled in the forefoot area to insert the spot-stretchers. Anyone who knows how to use a drill can easily drill a new hole to insert one of the spot stretchers tocus on a particular point in the shoe. There are no instructions included, so you've got to figure things out yourself. In use, they stick way out the back end of the shoe, so I don't see any way they could be used on boots inless they were very low ones, perhaps 9" or less, and not too stiff. They would not work on tall boots. My kit came with an enigmatic, yellow, plastic thing. My friends suggested it is to keep a pair of tall boots together. Perhaps that's to keep them from slumping over and developing unsightly creases. Since I gave up riding boots after my stint in the Union cavalry in the Civil War, I have no need for this item. It somewhat resembles a Neolithic house-god.I actually am pleased with mine and they've nicely relieved a trouble area over a 5th toe. Decent value for money!

Required repair to use
Upon opening the box, one stretcher was intact and viable, while the second stretcher required a full disassembly and turning of the mechanism to be operable. In addition to Amazon losing the first set (because the driver refused to deliver) so they were a week late, then a full repair was required to actually use on a pair of shoes. They appear to be fully functional after reconstructing them.
