You don't actually fill the straw. You put the grounds directly in the mug with your hot water and use the straw to filter it as you drink. It works great and I highly recommend it.

Daily user myself- love it mate, loose leaf tea, filters well and the tip keeps me from getting my lips burnt. Definitely a winner

Q: Will this filter out turkish coffee grounds if i make a large serving for myself in a regular cup?

I have not made Turkish coffee , which is ground very fine, but I make loose tea often and it does filter out all the particles to make a very clean, clear tea. I'm very happy with the gojo, maybe if the Turkish grind is too small, try a larger grind, you can get the same result, a very good, strong cup of coffee.
