How do I work the brightness setting on it?

really bright...there are three modes in total, a short press of the switch can switch between high brightness and medium brightness, and a long press can switch the blinking mode.

Is this flashlight worth buying?

Yes I really like mine and a fellow coworker said that he is going to purchase one for himself cause we do safety patrols and locking up some of our parks and there are some dark areas that we need to check and this flashlight really lights up the whole areas

USB rechargeable, 10000mAh 3.7 battery pack. Two cells sealed in plastic tube, with a warning to not separate/open the tube. Considering the build, I think the cells are Lithium. They do hold a charge really well.
