Spigen Thin Fit Designed for iPhone Xs Case (2018) / Designed for iPhone X Case (2017) - Matte Black

I tried 5 different iPhone X cases, and think this one is best. I bought the matte black version with non-slip SF coating. When I decided on this case, I also added Apple Care for $200, as a backup for screen breakage, since it may not protect the front screen if it falls in a certain way. I am guessing at least once over the next 2 years I will break the front screen, and if by chance the back glass were to somehow break, it covers that too.The reason I like this case so much is because: 1) It is super small, slim, lightweight, and gives a great grip, which makes it much less likely you will drop it in the first place. 2) Not having a case edge protruding on the bottom of the screen makes it much easier to use the phone, given also that I sometimes use the "reachability" feature, and swipe down with my thumb on the screen-bar. 3) It is very easy to put on and take off, unlike some other cases, such as the Spigen Ultra Hybrid case, which is also a good case. I am concerned that too much torque applied to the phone frame when putting on or taking off a case may over time damage the phone, but I am just guessing on that. 4) It is very inexpensive, so no problem to pay for another one if it gets scratched up, etc over time.Update After Buying Second Case in Satin Silver: I decided to get silver also, just for the look, and I think it looks great on the space gray phone. But the difference in grip is dramatic. This case, without the non-slip SF coating is much easier to drop. I still like it however, and may try sanding the edges with some coarse sandpaper to improve the grip. The color seems to be imbedded in the plastic, so it shouldn't turn out that bad. Otherwise, one needs to be extra careful about dropping due to the smooth satin surface, without the special coating.

Great case. This fits perfectly for my iPhone X. Snug snaps in to place. Hard plastic. This will protect against scratches and dings, but it will probably not do as well for drops -- it does not have any soft/spongy rubber like other cases to act as a cushion in a fall. I like this case because it is THIN PROFILE so my phone doesn't feel big/huge in my hand but provides sturdy protection against scratches. It also allows the phone to sit flush on a flat surface without wobbling (the camera protrudes so much in its vertical position that the iPhone wobbles when laid flat). The case does not protrude at all to cover the energized portion of the front screen so I can still see everything. The front edge is raised just a tiny amount so that if you lay the phone/case face down, the glass of the phone will not be touching anything (protection). The cutouts for the buttons are perfectly positioned and raised just enough so that the buttons are now flush with the case, instead of sticking out like the native phone. It is a very sturdy case, thin and comfortable and will do a good job

I love Spigen's line of Thin Fit cases. They are my absolute favorite cases for my phones. I'm kind of a gadget nerd and have two lines and multiple devices. My android line (Non work or business line) is where I have fun. Currently I have my Pixel XL 2 but I have also bought this case for my Note 8.On the iPhone X, Note 8 and Pixel XL 2 this case is amazing. It's nice and thin but well made. The finish is great, not slippery and inspires confidence when holding the phone. The case feels sturdy and nice.This is the part of the review where I specifically talk about the iPhone X version of this case. Like the other thin fit cases, I think this case is almost perfect.My one complaint is that the top of the iPhone isn't covered. For whatever reason, Spigen always does this with the iPhone and I don't know why, but it's kind of stupid. Since there are no buttons or interface points at the top of the device, I'd rather have it covered so that it can be more protected. They do this on their other thin fits (Pixel XL2 and Note 8, the reason why I mentioned them earlier on in this review..) and I don't get why they just leave a big empty whole at the top of the case on the iPhone versions.Lastly there is a nice 'lip' on the camera so you won't damage the sapphire glass of your camera lens but there isn't much lip on the front of the case for the screen so i wouldn't set your iPhone x face down on a table if you're worried about scratches.

I took two stars off because the lip on the front of the case does not protect the screen when the phone is placed face down. I gave one star back due to the nice grippy texture.Pros:-perfect fit-perfectly aligned cutouts-rear camera bump is protected by the lip-fantastic grippy surface that cleans off easily-fits Spigen magnetic plate inside the case perfectly-very thin but sturdy material. Shouldn't effect wifi/cellular reception like bulkier cases.Cons:-only use this for scratch protection, more grip, and to hold your magnetic plate. This case will not help even a little bit if you drop your phone.-front lip is not high enough to protect the screen when the phone is placed face down on a flat surface, at least not while you have a Spigen glass screen protector applied.-shows scratches and greasy fingerprints (but wipes clean easily)-a bit difficult to remove due to the perfect fit-would not accommodate Scosche Magic Mount brand magnetic plates inside the case. They are too thick. The Spigen large plate fit perfectly but I found that plate to be very thin it does not hold to the magnetic mount in my car as securely as the Scosche plate.-no top or bottom edge protection. For instance, the front True Depth camera module is dangerously exposed and unprotected.I took two stars off because the lip on the front of the case does not protect the screen when the phone is placed face down. Couldn’t be happier with this item. Love the thinness and quality of this case. Love Spigen as always and their attention to detail. Love the exposed top and bottom, shows the stainless steel. Good case. But probably will not protect iPhone from big drops.
