The Fog Solution
For years I skied blind. Whenever I tried putting goggles over my glasses, they would inevitably fog up. I looked into getting prescription goggles... all I could find were lens inserts to put inside of goggles, and still no guarantee that they would not fog up. Then I heard of Smith Turbo Fan goggles. First impression: seems pretty elaborate, to build fans into the goggles. But, frustrated with sliding down blurry slopes, I gave in and made the investment on faith. They cost a pretty penny alright, but very much worth it! Nothing like seeing while you are skiing! These really work well. Two fan settings, with a push switch that is easy to click with gloves on. You do need to be in a quiet place to hear if the motor is high, low or off, in case you forget what setting they are on, or you just pull the goggles out a bit and look at the fan. Fresh batteries last with the fan running all day and beyond. I usually replace them before a day of skiing, but carry spares just in case. The photochromic red sensor lens is awesome, seems good in most any light. They also come with a second blue tinted lens, easy to replace.

Great goggles otherwise
Fan lasted about a day. Very disappointing. Great goggles otherwise.

Poor design and poor performance. Definitely not worth the money.
The fan gets stuck in the housing and stops working with only the slightest twist of the frame. Also, the on/off button is poorly designed. Impossible to tell if the fan is switched on or not and there is no indicator light to tell you.

Convenient, Great Visibility
These goggles are great in fit and convenience, especially in situations where they can get fogged up! I've used these all last season, and loved the both of the lenses they've sent for sun and for low light days. The build is good, although the lens do scratch fairly easy compared to Oakley lenses. The turbo fan is great, although sometimes is difficult to tell if it is on. Lens changes are easy and quick, and the goggles overall have a great fit. A little pricy for the value, but overall I think they were worth the buy!

Awesome View!
I felt really hesitant about buying such expensive goggles, but they are worth every cent.I had previously had a much older pair of Smith Turbo goggles. I have a really bad problem with fogging, and have long appreciated the fog-clearing abilities of the turbo. Then my turbos got stolen, and I had to buy new ones. Wow! Was I blown away! These new ones are so much better:* the extra large/flameless lens gives huge peripheral vision* the lens quality is awesome, gives a beautiful view* the turbo fan is improved, clears fog really quickly* the switch to turn the fan on/off is improved, easier to handle with gloves onThe only problem I have is that they made the fan much quieter; too quiet. It is actually hard to tell if the fan is on, because it is so silent. So watch out that you actually remember to turn the fan off before packing your gear away or you will kill the batteries.

So much potential. Not worth the pricetag
So much potential thrown away simply from a lack of adequate r&d and a few weak links.I ordered these from another retailer simply because I was able to also order a pair of prescription inserts as a package deal. For fog control, they were amazing for the one use I got from them last season...There are a free good concepts at play: fast & easy lens swaps, quick connect strap, lens color options & availability, and the fan makes the best no-fog goggles I've ever used.Conversely, there are several huge strikes against them being worthy of their price. The lenses scratch ridiculously easy, no matter how careful you are with them. They use a very cheap quality 2.5mm headphone jack in the power line, and wire that is firm and brittle. Especially much do in extreme weather. The frame design doesn't work well with a helmet: it doesn't provide for any ducts between the goggles & brain bucket for the fan to circulate air and the Jack mentioned above is positioned above the right eye so it ends up being tweaked by the helmet with every head nod or bump.I returned the goggles to Smith for warranty repair for this last issue only to have the frames returned several months later with the jack hanging loosely inifront if my right eye, and they neglected to return my lenses and case until I called and filled a complaint. At this moment, I would find it very difficult recommending these goggles to anybody unless you plan on doing a lot of repairing and jury-rigging to keep them operable.

Great goggles clears the fog quickly
The goggles work great and fit well. They have a fan switch that is easy to use and a clasp that allows it to go around the helmet. No need for the additional helmet clip. I have a medium sized giro helmet. The lens changing feature is nice. This allows me to use a clear lens for night skiing and also have the fan on it. Changing the lens is not real fast. It has gotten easier as the goggles have worn in from changing but does not look as easy as other newer goggle release mechanisms from other manufacturers. However having a fan is rely nice. It clears the fog off my prescription glasses as well as the lens. Pretty expensive but worth it.

Fabulous Anti-Fog Goggles
The only negative is that the fan is SO silent that you question whether its on. Work fabulously! The photocromic sensor lens is worth the extra cost too. Best goggle lens I've ever had. Amazing goggles.
