Q: can a dell r710 fit in this ?

Yes. All server racks the fronts are standard. Although I don't one of these, It does seem expandable to able to accommodate deep servers of which the dell r710 is one!

At least for the 2-post model, it won't. The bottom of the rack takes up 505mm.

Yes, it's approx 10 mm deeper than a Cisco 2600 series router. About 29 cm.
