All the answers in one place.
It’s cute. It’s plastic. It has an On/Off switch on the handle. It’s dual voltage. It has a 120/220-volt selector switch operated with a screw driver or similar on the bottom. It pours satisfactorily. It weighs 514g including plug but not water ; )It holds 0.5 litres – enough for two teas in my mugs but check the volume of your favourite mugs.It switches off automatically but approximately 15 seconds after the water has reached a full rolling boil. It’s rated at 650 watts. (I measured 648 to 670 watts)It takes 5 minutes to boil 0.5 litres of water at 220 volts. It takes 7 minutes to boil 0.5 litres of water at 120 volts (I have a 220v/120v transformer). It’s all one piece - the kettle body and base cannot be separated. It has a short cable - approx. 70 cm - but this should prevent you from filling it over the sink while it’s plugged in thus possibly saving you from a potentially fatal electric shock. Its cable coils and clips neatly round the base. And the reason for my purchase.1. In the UK it compliments my solar panels. If it’s not raining my panels will provide 650 watts thus avoiding the need to import expensive electricity from the grid. My conventional kettle is rated at 3,000 watts and will import something from the grid each time I make a cuppa. I calculate that it will pay for itself in one to two years.2. And it’s small and light enough to take to the USA so I can make tea in hotel rooms, I won’t have to boil water on stove tops when self-catering and when I’m in the RV I can use the un-metered electricity hook-up and not the RVs propane and stove top.

Lightweight, small travel kettle. All plastic, with 2 small plastic cups. Good for infrequent use.
Bought as a gift for me nephew, who is student, who wanted a light weight kettle for travelling around. Something he could keep in his room. He said this meets his requirement but doubts it will last more than a year (only time will tell).PRO (1) Its light weight and small (2) At 500W, it won't take too much current to blow fuses in his student accommodation (3) At 500 ml, its not a bad size for one person (4) WarrantyCONS (1) Its all plastic construction doesn't seem to be sturdy (only time will tell if it stands up to frequent use , I don't think that was the intention for the travel kettle) (2) It takes about 6 minutes to boil 500 ml of water (less if you put less in it) (3) The plastic cups are small (4) For a few pounds more you can get a much bigger steel kettle (but then it depends if you want it to be travel kettle or not)

Useful kettle
Nice small kettle, feels strong. Easy to pick up. Boils in a couple of Minutes. Nice colour for my decor. The included cups are very useful. Easy to clean. I've used it many times and it hasn't lost any performance. The material seems strong.

Splashes boiling water when at "max".
Does the job... Chose it as actually BEING 0.5l capacity, as opposed to many on Amazon that say that but lower down in the description say 0.4l. Drawback is that if you fill it to "Max" then when it boils, water spurts and splashes out through the lid/spout and dribbles all over the place. Could understand it if this happened when you overfill it, ie to the top of the kettle; but it should be able to handle water up to the "Max" fill line. Cups are indeed v small; we borrowed decent-sized ones from the hotel until we'd bought our souvenir mugs. Like the ability to switch voltage, and the way the cable wraps back up neatly.

Very good quality
With the price of electricity going up I bought this mini kettle in order to boil just one cup of water, rather than use the usual kitchen kettle. It takes up little space and does the job. I can also power it via my portable 240v power pack in an emergency if we get a power cut.

Unacceptable quality
I used to own the Swan SK27010N kettle, which I was quite happy with. But my mother wanted it so I gave it to her. I decided to buy the VonShef (this item) instead of another Swan travel kettle only because it matched my kitchen appliances better, not expecting a huge drop in quality since reviews were also quite positive overall.Unfortunately, little over a year later the lining at the bottom of the container has started coming off in very small black bits which means I am ingesting this material every time I pour water on a cup of tea. This is completely unacceptable because of the health concerns it causes. And it is added to other minor problems like the plastic lid not being robust enough so that the plastic piece used for pulling the lid up occasionally comes off.I am going to buy another Swan SK27010N and take the VonShef to a recycling centre.
