Reduces panel vibration in domestic ventilation systems, and cars
Silent Coat pack of twenty tiles 375mm x 250mm x 2mm thick. This bigger pack is much better value for money per unit area than the smaller packs.I have a house with heat-exchange ventilation and also a heat-pump-capable air-con unit. As supplied they have minimal reduction of noise from fans, ducts or compressors. Careful positioning of portions of these tiles has made a big improvement in reducing panel resonances from the various equipment boxes, as well as adding carefully tuned mass-deadening to the silencers I’ve built and fitted to the ducts just before various openings to the house. It helps a lot if the surfaces and the tiles are both warm (not hot), careful use of a hair dryer can prove very effective. Moderate heat improves the flexibility of the tiles and makes the sticky more sticky. It is important to remove any rust-preventive wax treatment from the surfaces before applying the tiles. The tiles do not allow water penetration behind them if correctly applied, and a spray of the wax after fitting will help seal the edges to prevent future condensation penetration and possible rust.I’ve also used it on cars, and this sound deadening stuff is effective at reducing the resonances of un-damped areas of bodywork prone to excitement by the vibrations coming up through the suspension or by the hifi. In some spots, such as bodywork close around a shock-absorber mounting or above a suspension point, a double layer can be more effective than a single layer. The technique to identify where to stick the stuff on a larger panel is simple: gently tap the suspected panels with the rounded plastic handle of a small screwdriver while applying a fingertip to different places on the panel. Anywhere the finger deadens the sound is worthwhile sticking on stuff. If the finger has no effect, then don’t waste the stuff there. It is surprising how small a piece can still be effective on quite a big panel.Adding pieces to the noisy rattling outdoor unit of a domestic air-conditioner prevented various panels from resonating, and a couple of strategic bits of draft-excluder foam finished off the process. It is now almost silent, inaudible indoors and also next door for a happy neighbour.

An excellent product for Automotive Sound Deadening
This stuff is pretty much the best sound deadening I have used so far!My current car and my previous 4 cars have always ended up having sound deadening work done on them as I'm a bit fussy when it comes to aural build quality and quietness on the road.I've used many products before including Dynamat, Second Skin and good old Flashing tape! This is by far the best in adhesion and best at getting rid of unwanted noise.Very happy with the outcome and more than impressed with the ease of use of this product.Bonnet, Doors and Bootlid, Underside of rear bench and boot floor are all done!Tempted to remove the roof liner and do the roof too now!

Great sound proofer
Easy to use and good adhesion. In cold weather better to soften with a hairdryer as it makes the panels more easy to use. Very heavy weight and excellent quality.

Good product
I bought this for an MX5 and I didn't want to pay for Dynamat. It has made a noticible difference, is very easy to trim and install and has just the right amount of adhesive. may get another pack to do the boot area but one pack covered a lot. Well worth it and very happy with this product.

This stuff is very easy to stick down and does a good job of quietening things down a bit. You should be aware to really do a thorough job you should feel confident about removing trim panels etc. It is quite heavy as well, the more you put in your car the more weight you are adding. Very good silver top surface and very sticky, although you can move them about before pressing them down. Easy to cut with just a pair of scissors. Don't expect total silence but it will cut down road noise to an extent.

Silent coat works
Silent coat is easy to apply to the interior metal body panels on a vehicle.I used a hot air gun to warm the panel and the silent coat sheets before applying with a rubber roller to ensure good adhesion.I used this product inside the doors and under the carpet inside the boot and spare wheel area.Found it significantly improved the road noise and helped prevent panel noise.

Sukuki Jimny transformed.
My 3 year old Jimny was rattly and noisy but this has transformed it in to a much quieter ride with hardly any rattles. Did floor frontto back, rear wheel arches, rear side panels and a couple of sheets were placed in each door ( doors were awkward as not much space )I ended up cancelling my amazon order before it arrived as the delivery dates given after i ordered it were too long. I then wentdirect to Silent cost and brought the larger pack which was the perfect amount in the end. Dont know how good or worth while it is on other carsbut the with the Jimny it makes a fantastic difference . Easy to fit if you dont mind dismantling the car interior. About a day and a half work for me. Easy to fit and cut ( having rubber roller made it easier ) . The hardest part is removing and replacing seats, panels etc.

Great Producr
A excellent product, good and sticky and rigid enough, yet flexible, to go into those tight spaces. No waste as there is always a space for any off it’s. Rubber roller wheel essential tool to smooth joints and expell air as you stick it on.
