Is this product BPA free?

Yes From the website: What is Outlery made with? Outlery is made with SS304 which is the finest grade of stainless steel. The inner tray is made with silicone, outer box with recycled tin and all the packaging is made with recycled cardboard What process is used for colored cutlery? We use a process called PVD. PVD is the safest and most durable way of imparting color to stainless steel cutlery. And before you ask PVD is a process “physical vapor deposition” which is a playing process binding metals to stainless steel

Will this go through airport security?

The knife probably will not. Outlery used to offer a "TSA-friendly" knife head (which is basically a dull butterknife—no serrated edge or blade). As for the rest of the set, it depends on the country and security officer in question. I had the fork head of all things confiscated while traveling in Central America. Before that, I had traveled with the set through plenty of checkpoints both in the US and abroad. As a heads up, getting a replacement part if one piece is confiscated is quite difficult. I tried to order one from Outlery, the order sat in limbo for like three months, and then it was ultimately cancelled and I was refunded without explanation. To date I haven't figured out how to get a new fork. Long story short, I wouldn't risk it with TSA.
