Great camera
I have several large DSL cameras and love them however. Carrying a large one while in Europe became a struggle. So headed back to Europe and decided to look for a small travel camera. Read reviews and researched and chose this one! Love it so far. It’s small but not as light as I would have thought. It takes awesome photos and very user friendly. I love the selfie feature it so easy flip up the monitor and turn the camera around…you can see the subjects and snap the photo. Easy fast and fun! It takes photos as well as my larger Nikon and Sony. The zoom excellent and the stabilizer great! Glad I purchased will make carrying it so much easier than my larger heavy others.

Great camera! Easy to use!
Camera does everything you’d want in a camera. Zoom is better than my 20/20 eye sight and screen that flips around is good for group selfies. Happy shooting!

Nice camera for travel but apparently not well built
We liked the features of this camera (particularly the RAW capability and the long zoom) a lot, and the photo quality was quite good for a pocket zoom. But less than a year after purchase, the lens cover stopped operating properly and would not completely close. This left the lens susceptible to more dust and debris than if the cover remained functional. The camera was priced too high to have any parts fail that quickly.

Returned: Flash obstructed by fingers - poor design.
Returned this camera. I wanted to like it but unfortunately a couple serious limitations are dealbreakers:Pros:- Light, compact- Nice touch screen and controls.- Lots of features - albeit at the expense of a complex menu structure.- Feels solid (obviously a subjective view).Cons:- Flash position: Your finger obstructs it unless you contort your fingers unnaturally or hold the camera with fingertips. What were the engineers thinking.- Wifi - Connectivity issues - as noted by others.- Software apps are clunky on iphone / ipad - although they seem they would be handy to transfer images from camera. Took me 20 - 30 minutes to get it to work and even then, I was spending lot of time looking at a "connecting to camera" message on the screen. Another engineering fail.- Weak USB/HDMI plug door - and difficult to operate for something you are going to use a lot given the usb charger provided requires the camera to be plugged in to charge.- Charger is USB only - means if you buy a second battery and want to charge it out of camera you also have to buy a charger for that.- Screen doesn't tilt down - only up 180deg max (ie. for taking selfies). If you are taking pictures in a crowd and want to see what you are framing, this won't work. (or shooting a picture holding your arms up)Overall for the price, its got some major flaws for me so it went back. With hindsight, I did not read the reviews closely enough to see the above issues.... so hopefully this will help someone avoid the same mistake.

Great camera for travel
Got this as an upgrade to an older version camera in the same series from Lumix. The 30x zoom in a compact size makes it my favorite (and only one) for use during travels. It has more presets than the previous version had. The 180 degree tilting lcd display helps with selfies, but it does add bulk to the camera. The pictures are decent but maybe not wow-worthy.

Portable and powerful
The media could not be loaded. I was a bit skeptical after reading some of the reviews, but I'm very happy with the results. For a point-and-shoot, it's fairlysophisticated, and I had to watch a video going over all the menus to really understand what it can do. One major perk of this camera is that it can shoot RAW, which I recommend due to the somewhat aggressive JPEG compression. It's also relatively easy to connect with a phone. Photos and videos can be readily transferred over, and the phone can also act as a remote trigger.I read some reviews which suggested this camera is not great for wildlife, but it has burst modes and even post-focus capability, so I'm not sure how people came to that conclusion. One thing I will say is that good lighting is key. This camera can be unforgiving in low-light conditions owing to its small sensor. Definitely don't plan on using it for indoor stuff. Leave that to your cell phone. The pictures I attached to this review are unedited other than a quick conversion from RAW to JPEG. They clean up nicely with a little sharpening and denoising. Video was shot at 60 fps full HD with 30x optical zoom.

Great camera, absolutely awful customer support.
I just received a Lumix ZS80D camera. The camera is quite spiffy, but the product registration process is impossibly awful. I tried contacting Panasonic support but got nowhere. If I can't even register the product, what's going to happen if I need actual product support? I can't recommend this, or any other Panasonic product.

Excelente la cámara. Muy bueno el funcionamiento general. Excelente Zoom.
