This is a huge job with lots of other items ...
This is a huge job with lots of other items being found to replace while the motor was out.Be sure to use the real Ford sealer unless you want to do it twice. Before you install the very first thing you should do is check the orientation angle of your dip stick tube flange in the pan.It has 2 positions. 12 oclock or about 2 o'clock. The pan comes with it in the 12 o'clock position. this is the wrong position for 2001 and up.It needs to be at the 2 o'clock position if your dip stick tube is bolted at the front under the A/C compressor.I needed an o ring so I didn't do the tube until after the engine was installed. so, I didn't notice this little detail and now that the motor is installed I have to attempt to change the position without dropping the inner half in the pan.If I lose it. I get to pull it all back out and remove the pan again..DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE I DID.

Perfect fit for my 2002 7.3
I've installed a handful of these doorman oil pans on 7.3's The pans are a good fit. You do have to pull the engine to replace this part.

Heavy made, quality built oil pan!
This oil pan is very heavy and durable. Exact match to the original. Difficult to put on but that’s not Dorman’s fault. It’s the design of my Ford F-350.

Quality oil pan- but drain plug came cross threaded!!
Put all the work into changing the oil pan to find the drain plug is cross threaded from the manufacture. Now it leaks. Was a huge waste of time!

Check and make sure not bent
Don't know if the manufacturer dropped the pan but had a pretty huge bend right in the corner hope it still seals had to try and straighten it the best I could looks like it's been kicked around so many scratches an dents on the pan ain't funny the shipping box wasn't hurt so jad to be the manufacturer or the shipper

You can change the direction of the dipstick on the oil pan.
The direction of the dipstick tube is changeable by loosening the nut on the pan and moving the bung for the dipstick tube. It's a huge O-ring on the inside for sealing, should have no effect at all as far as a leak from turning it.

All in all it was worth it.
Used on a 2002 7.3 diesel

Nice oil pan
Good quality. Fit my 2000 F350 7.3L perfectly. I put an extra coat of paint on the outside to prevent rust. Be sure to use the factory Ford sealant
