How is it attached to the wall if the back is just cardboard? Are there fixing brackets?

There is a solid wooden piece with two holes that goes across the top as an anchor. This is how you will attach to the wall using the provided hardware. Once mounted to wall is very sturdy and secure. (Hint… try to mount into a wall stud)
