Very well made, good zips, well finished stitching and thick, abrasion resistant, fabric. Good length shoulder straps, longer than on many backpacks. Has taken a laptop, several books, a camera, an umbrella and an overcoat in the main compartment with space to spare. The front compartment has taken a water bottle, phone, sandwiches, street maps, notepad, scarf, gloves and pens and a 'paper' notebook, again with space to spare. When walking it has swallowed sandals, water bottles, food, rain-proofs, maps, satnavs, binoculars and extra clothing. I can take it out loaded with essentials and bring it back with twice as much. Its as least as well made as my ancient Karrimor sack so I expect it to last for well over a decade.
