I have a fireplace that I blocked off with a piece of plywood years ago. I have no intention or ever using it and to me it was a hole in the wall sucking out all my heating $$. The space isn't worthy or needing of a pricey insert's 'looks' or heat it would generate. So, here I am perfectly content with my eyesore at the end of the living room, but now we have (unpretentious-thank goodness) guests coming for the holidays and I MUST do something to brighten up this space. Plastic picture of roaring fireplace? Meet blank fireplace! I bought a roll of Scotch double sided tape and tacked it along the edges of my existing top and side moldings. Now that it is up, I realize perhaps I should have taken the time to hit the creases with a warm iron. I tried to get them out with a warm blow dryer, but I don't think it made a difference. Maybe the creases will fade over time. Who cares really, it looks way better than it did! the plastic is thin but it isn't too flimsy...just shy of too thin. There's lots of clear edging out around the actual picture to help with anchoring/attaching.

I used it to add more charm to our Halloween decoration at work. It looked great, and served the purpose I wanted it to serve. Didn't rip, didn't get any holes in it from folding/unfolding. Can't complain. it imitates a nicely looking fireplace. 5/5.

I was expecting something a little sturdier than what I got. Honeslty, from the description, I thought it was more like cardboard. However, it's made of a thin vellum and is very easy to tear so you have to be ultra careful when taking it down if you want to use it more than once. But it did look pretty cool when put up and did have a nice 3D effect. In the photo, it is mostly covered up by the stockings but I still got the impression of stockings of the fireplace. Not sure how you would eliminate the folds without destroying it. It would be nice if the material were thicker and shipped in a roll to eliminate creasing.

use it under a window sill and still hang up your stockings or set up a lantern or electric candles!! That is what we are doing at our Senior apartments in a room for all who live here to enjoy!!! I just wish it had cardboard backing to make it last a little longer for reuse (hence the one missing star) but hey, the world is not perfect...

There were reviews that led us to believe this was exactly the little Christmas cardboard fireplace all the children here could hang their little stockings on. When we wanted to return it because of this, and have to have UPS pickup because we are disabled and cannot drive, the cost of the pickup left us with less than $2 to buy the fireplace we promised the children. Now we cannot afford it. PLEASE DON’T BUY THIS. It’s just a dropcloth piece of cheap plastic.How can Amazon do business with people like this?

The media could not be loaded. This fireplace was perfect for what I was needing to complete my cabin theme office decorations, for our annual Christmas decorating contest!! (Of course, I won first place 😀) However, I did cut it down to size for my space. It displaced vivid color and was a quality product for the cost. Will buy again!!
