NOW TV Smart Stick with HD & Voice Search with 2 Month Entertainment Pass

I now have three of these, they are great!I used to have the Now TV boxes but have now replaced them all with the stick.I really like not having a wire going from the box to the tv and another to the socket, this plugs into the hdmi socket on the back of the tv and the power plugs into the usb socket above it, that's it, neat and simple.The remote now turns on the tv and turns the volume up and down, which is better than the last remote and the middle of the button section is yellow which shows up really well in the evening light.The monthly cost of each package can be stopped and started as and when you feel like. I have the movie package for a month then cancel (you still finish the month you have paid for) then when there is a movie we want to watch I put it on for another month. I do the same with the kids channels, when the grandchildren come I pay for it then cancel it straight away. This works out really well and we are not paying for things we dont watch. You can easily add or take away the package passes online, within seconds.It is the most usable compared to netflix and Amazon.

Works well, easy to set up.Wife loves it, friends on constantly in the kitchen.!To clarify, it plugs into the hdmi connection and is then powered by the USB connection, so you will need both a hdmi & USB free on your TV, or... A hdmi (for the stick) and then the USB power can be supplied via plug outlet, providing you have one spare and relatively nearby. If will not work by hdmi alone, it needs power.All works well for me via hdmi and USB, wires are hidden behind the TV.I had to by a usb connector too as the TV was on the wall and therefore too close to the wall to fit in horizontal.I required a 270° adaptor, they also come in 90°. Choose the right one for you needs...E.G usb stick entry from above (270) pointing down or below (90) pointing upwards.You can also buy codes off amazon or eBay rather than subscribing, when you register your device you have to register a card for future payment, set up you device then you can cancel your subscription and purchase codes as required....(of you wish) These are a lot cheaper than subscribing.All in all really impressed.Great way of getting up to date with online viewing.Not used the voice recognition, so unable to comment on that.

After comparing the NowTV set-top box and the Smart stick online I wasn't sure which one to opt for and was a little put off by some of the negative reviews for the stick. I'm glad I went ahead an ordered anyway, it was super easy to install and I was watching the final Season of GoT within 10mins. Instructions for claiming the two-month free entertainment pass were also really simple to follow. I have a slightly older Amazon Fire Stick TV and this device is much faster, the fact I can also use it to control the TV and volume is really convenient and the Fire Stick and TV remote are now tucked away in a drawer as I use the NowTV stick for everything including Netflix, YouTube etc. If anyone is reading and has been put off by some of the bad reviews, I've not had any issues at all and would highly recommend this product to anyone!

Initially I was not very impressed with the smart stick as it was failing to stay connected to the wireless network despite having had no problems while setting it up. Eventually, I had to just factory reset the stick and go through the setup again and this time I didn't get the same issue.In use, I have so far found the stick to be a pretty good performer with no problems of lag in the ui nor streaming performance issues when actually watching a program. From the times I have also used the old, small now tv box, the stick seems to be a better performer than that one.The remote is generally good with the power and volume buttons that can be configured to work with your tv being a welcome addition that allows you to just use the one remote to control your viewing and is a feature that I wish the fire stick also included.One feature that I don't find myself using very much is the voice search functionality, I tend to use a particular app or just browsing the 'my tv' section in the now tv app for my next thing to watch rather than searching for something, so this isn't a negative on the actual functionality itself.Overall, this is a good value streaming stick if you use Now TV and the convenience of a decent remote rather than having to find or unlock your phone makes it a better option for that than using a Chromecast for that purpose.

I have used Nowtv via app and the set top boxes previously and have always been very happy with the experience and quality. I purchased this stick to replace an old box and provide a cleaner look to a bedroom tv. It has not disappointed.Very easy to install and the on screen setup guide means it is also simple to get watching tv. It even runs power from the usb port on the tv, so it is a wire free option for wall mounted TVs.The new remote is excellent and a step up from the set top box one. The voice recognition works very well and the volume button on the side of the remote works the TV volume. Also a nice touch is the power button turns of the stuck and TV together.A nice product which offers wire free access to nowtv.
