Not bad for the money
I think it works good for the most part. Very good quality videos. Seems that objects in very center of field are less likely to set off a motion alert and record event. I found that changing aim to where you really need is a third way off center works much better. I have spent a lot of my time trying to fine tune these so I'm not missing so many events or getting motionless videos. I am still learning. At times they flawlessly other times missing what I feel is the first 8 seconds of an event. Maybe operator error. I have two but one seem to record more than double nothings. This is just one review so look at others and compare and Good luck!

So far so good, Like this cam alot!!
Ive seen some decent negative reviews on this camera and not sure why? Perhaps lack of understanding or the software was under developed at the time?Anyways, ive only had this cam for 1 day. Setup was a breeze, install the mobile app on your phone, create an account, scan QR code on the back of the camera to add your cam to your account and configure through the app. I think setup took about 10 mins at most. The big pro i love about this cam is it’s versatility. You do not need a cloud subscription to use this cam, although it does appear Reolink offers a cloud subscription through the app under SIM services,if you wish. You can purchase an SD card separately to install into the cam which i recommend as you will not be able to review past recordings/ events without one. You can still use without an SD card, but would only view live. This cam also supports FTP which is GREAT!! I have mine setup to store recordings on a NAS server on my home network AND store them direct to the SD card in the cam. This cam is also compatible with Google Assistant, i can view this cam from both my google assistants. The included solar panel works very well. I installed this cam on a severe gray cloudy day and the panel still received enough UV rays through a dreary cloudy day to charge the cam back up to 100%.I saw another reviewer complain about the clarity or ability to see a car’s license plate. Not sure why you would expect precision zoom on a camera that doesnt exactly offer or advertise that.In any case this camera is perfect for my needs, gives me a birds eye view of my driveway. Also worth mentioning, once you pair your cam with the App, you can remote view your cam through Reolink when not at home. Tested this a few times by disconnecting my phone from my home network and was able to view the cam with no issues. Motion alerts are also on point and very sensitive.. still tweaking the sensitivity, this will notify you if a bird in its nest blinks. I loved this cam so much i purchased a 2nd one last night to monitor my backyard. I love the wide view you get, where as youd need at least 2 cams to get that kind of view.**EDIT** After 1 month:The camera is still good, but wanted to add something regarding the Solar Panel and after alot of googling... The Solar Panel that comes with this WILL NOT charge the camera if the temp falls below approx 35 degrees F even if the panel is in direct sunlight. Which is not terrible, you just need to make sure you are not accessing the camera all the time or motion is constantly setting it off to help prolong battery life between warmer sunnier days. Just an FYI for potential buyers. Still very satisfied with my purchase. Just wanted to give a heads up so you are not doing pointless troubleshooting.

UPDATE 11-17-24 I now own 7 and here’s why
The media could not be loaded. Original review is below the dotted line. This camera is so well suited for my needs in monitoring animals and human predators that I now have 7 on my WiFi system in a rural area. What impresses me most is the ability to “squeeze zoom” on my iPhone of the video my Argus cameras have in their ultra wide field of view, both during live shots as well on recorded/captured scenes. The important thing is to set the camera on it’s highest quality setting and the “squeeze zoom” technique works out amazingly well with high resolution viewing.……………………………………………………………..(ORIGINAL REVIEW)First… check out the video of a feral kitten running around on the floor of my man cave. I wanted to keep an eye on this little guy to see how he acclimates to noises made by humans, and to see if he starts becoming “unferal”. The Argus 4 Pro has advantages over regular security cameras because of the VERY WIDE field of view. This kitty is running inside my 20 foot wide man cave and not many cameras can “see” this wide. The Argus 4 Pro (on very close subject matter) shows a somewhat blurred image BUT the Argus 4 Pro is not designed for close up subject matter. It is very clear at viewing objects 30 or more feet away, but still, close ups work for me and my feral cat.My background encompasses years of working with very expensive broadcast television cameras and I taught the subject at a university here in Texas. With my background, this Argus 4 Pro has me VERY IMPRESSED with image quality, the wide angle “see all” lens and especially with motion events and detection. I was so impressed with my first one I now own SIX (as of 7-14-24) but there is a MAJOR problem with the Argus 4 Pro (read on.)A very minor problem (most people won’t notice though) is the “stitching” of both lenses, where one camera lens shows the movement of an object on the horizontal field of view. Trust me, this problem is so insignificant it’s really not worth mentioning. It’s very noticeable on feral cats that are 3 feet from the lenses, but on objects that are far away it really isn’t an issue. It’s important to note that this Reolink DOES NOT RECORD TO THE CLOUD… It only records to an SD card that you purchase separate. I WOULD LIKE IT TO RECORD TO THE CLOUD like my 10 Reolink SIM-Cellular Cameras and I want to review recorded movements (people, vehicles, animals) with the same characteristics, clarity and ease that my Reolink CELLULAR cameras are so at.The same Reolink app works with both types of Reolink cameras (cellular & WiFi) but the WiFi captures to an SD card are a pain to review and the way they are initially shown on the app is CONVOLUTED compared to how easy it is to examine the Reolink Cellular CLOUD recordings. There are two options in regard to having to use an SD card. The first option is TERRIBLE and the second option is LOUSY.#1. (THE WORST OPTION) is to install the SD card in the Argus camera slot, which is a royal pain if you place this camera outside on a tall pole. You can only view camera recordings by climbing a ladder, opening the SD card slot removing the SD card and climbing back down the ladder, then placing the SD card in your computer and then view the captured videos the Argus 4 Pro made.THE SECOND OPTION IS THE BETTER SOLUTION but it is still a pain in the neck!#2. Purchase the Reolink Home Hub (as I did) and if your WiFi is strong enough in regard to distance, you can have the Argus 4 Pro recordings done on SD cards (two each) inside the Reolink Home Hub.My Argus 4 Pro cameras are situated outside of my house on a ranch, and they work off of and through my WiFi in our house from hundreds of feet away from the WiFi. I have the Reolink app installed on my iPhone. I LOVE THE REOLINK APP for my 10 Reolink SIM-cellular cameras because I never have to go outside and climb a ladder. With my 10 Reolink SIM-CELLULAR cameras, it is VERY EASY to view motion events that are sent to the CLOUD and easy to download any video I want to save, to my iPhone or my computer. It is also very easy to delete videos FROM THE CLOUD, that my Reolink SIM-CELLULAR cameras have captured.Recording video movement through the Reolink ARGUS 4 PRO via the Home Hub is NOT AS USEFUL AS MY CELLULAR REOLINK RANGERs, My CELLULAR REOLINK TRACKMIX and my other 8 other Reolink cameras that use SIM cards. The SIM-CELLULAR REOLINK cameras are much more versatile than the Argus 4 Pro cameras I have BUT I don’t have to pay for cellular service with the Argus 4 Pro cameras as I have to with the Reolink CELLULAR cameras. Please note, one person in his/her review of the Argus 4 Pro stated the image was “blurry”. THAT IS UTTER NONSENSE. The Argus 4 Pro has two different settings for clarity. Even the low setting is VERY SHARP. That reviewer might not have understood that you have two clarity settings for the Argus 4 Pro which are called “FLUENT” and “CLEAR.” The “CLEAR” setting yields very high quality resolution and detail. The “FLUENT” is OK though, just not as good as “CLEAR.”I really like that the Argus 4 Pro has this incredible wide angle lens. As a former licensed private investigator working with ex FBI agents, the Argus 4 Pro “wide view” allows for seeing “culprits” from various points on a landscape. This is useful in surveillance videos for investigation as one “culprit” might be breaking into my gate 400 feet from my house, another “culprit” might be at the entrance to my yard (they won’t get past my 6 dogs though) and another “culprit “ 100 feet away might be the “lookout” and a third culprit might be entering my garage 200 feet away in the same scene. I’m able to “squeeze-zoom” on my iPhone by placing 2 fingers over the area I want to see in greater detail. With my Argus 4 Pro Max set to the highest resolution, “squeeze-zooming” tight into a particular area I wish to view yields very impressive scene quality allowing me to observe detail I would miss in a camera not having very high resolution and this incredible WIDE ANGLE LENS.Another reviewer complained about “not being able to remotely delete videos.” You can’t delete ANY video on an SD card installed in ANY camera by WiFi. However you can on the Argus 4 Pro and I’ll mention how a little further down in my review where I talk about the Reolink Home Hub (I own one). Videos CAN be deleted through the REOLINK HUB but it’s a real pain to delete Argus 4 Pro video captures through the app off of the SD card stored in the HUB.You can however view live video from the Argus 4 PRO if it is connected to your WiFi by using the Reolink app.One reviewer complained about the long horizontal aspect ratio and stated it would not allow for intricate viewing of small objects in the vision field. For me, I simply “squeze-zoom” on the image on my iPhone and enlarge the live-view scene. The “squeeze zoom” method shows me very clear images when I wish to examine something small in the Argus 4 Pro view. The Argus 4 Pro gets VERY HIGH MARKD in regard to visual quality and the ability to “SQUEEZE-ZOOM” using my iPhone 15 Pro Max.I REPEAT, If you need a Reolink camera that can record to the cloud, DO NOT BUY THIS ARGUS 4 Pro…The Reolink Cloud plan is offered in several levels. I purchased two different versions of the plans (each plan allowing for TEN cameras each) for my various Reolink SIM/cellular cameras and I’m VERY pleased with what they do for the Reolink SIM-cellular cameras.I’ve added a picture showing my three Argus 4 Pro cameras as viewed on my Reolink app. Look for the picture having HOME HUB.Long story made short, Reolink has failed by NOT making the Argus 4 Pro by not having CLOUD RECORDING available. Reolink has also failed miserably because if you do buy their Home Hub and have the Argus 4 Pro cameras submitting videos to the SD cards installed inside the HOME HUB you can only DELETE all captured Argus 4 Pro videos is by REFORMATTING the SD cards through the Reolink Home Hub App or by removing the SD cards from the HOME HUB and installing them in your computer to delete.

Battery & Night vision
This is a fancy DoorBell Camera, not really what I would consider a security camera where you can later scroll through the days or weeks recordings because they are not there, it only records upto 30 seconds max after a motion alert. You can NOT record 24/7. the motion sensor does not sense motion out at 75ft or so. I was trying to use it to cover my horse pasture which is about 150ft wide by 300ft long and it did not sense horses movement out past about 75ft. I placed the camera in the center of the 300ft side of the pasture so it only had to sense upto 150ft in any direction, it did not work. With the floodlight turned OFF a fully charged battery did not even last 24 hours, it lasted about 12 hours. Now for the night vision it was good with flood light ON out to about 50-75ft but terrible beyond that and absolutely useless with floodlight OFF (I do not have much ambient light I am in a rural area) Needless to say , but I will be returning this Reolink Argus 4 Pro, it does not work for me (probably too much horse motion and not enough ambient light to work as advertised)
