Diamond Dreamer / Picture 1 Audio CD – CD, February 11, 2014

I bought this on vinyl import when it was originally released. For a relatively unknown metal band, I was amazed at the quality production this received. A perfect mix all around, crystal clarity, and the right amount of punch to the drums and bass. This is one of my favorite albums of all time, regardless of genre. Other top bands and producers could take a lesson from the care and quality that went into the music and production evidenced here. Not one bad song on this recording. This remaster (finally on CD) is also impressive as it remains so true to the already masterful original recording,but, because of the originals perfection, doesn't add much...but, the beauty is, it didn't need to. If you don't have the original vinyl, then, BUY THIS CD!!!!!! This review is for the Diamond Dreamer CD in this set.

Sounds like a cross between AC/DC and Accept even though some people think it sounds like Ronny James Dio. The vocals on this are faster and louder. Good Stuff.

It's Ok.

Im always searching for great bands and albums from the past that I missed throughout the years to add to my collection. I came upon this band in youtube and found that they were really a good band and their first two albums Picture ST and Diamond Dreamer were never released in the US. That's remarkable being that they were really good melodic rock fringing into metal as it was at the time. The singer reminds me of David Coverdale , while the music is hard to pin to anyone. Perhaps early Whitesnake with a mix of Riot, I keep hearing things that remind me of many different bands. But the fact is that Picture was Picture and their first two albums were worthy of being released in the US , I think with success. In research I found that they toured Europe with bands such as ACDC, Saxon, April Wine and other big names. You don't get invited on those kind of tours without some talent. Im glad that these goodies are now available for the first time in the US especially for this price, as the prices I was finding were quite high if you could find them at all. So I quickly added Picture to my collection and Im glad to have them.

Hard rock/heavy metal anni '80 notevole, efficace e massiccio. Gli olandesi Picture, soprattutto in quegli anni, e soprattutto nel nord europa, ebbero giustamente una buona notorietà, anche se avrebbero comunque meritato molto di più...Finalmente è stato ristampato un cd ad un prezzo accessibile... E ancora di lavoro ce ne sarebbe da fare su quegli anni...Per esempio: quando verrà ristampato il primo lavoro dei grandiosi Babylon A.D. (che in un concerto a Los Angeles nel 1992 mi strabiliarono...)?Keep the faith alive (because metal is the faith).Andymetalive

Hier muss man klar zwischen Picture1und Diamond Dreamer unterscheiden!Picture 1 , noch mit Ronald van Prooijen, ist für meine Ohren noch sehr unbeholfen und hat nur wenig mit wirklichem Hard Rock/Metal zu tun.Alles wirkt irgendwie unbeholfen und auch die Produktion kann nicht überzeugen.Diamond Dreamer dagegegen, hier singt dann Shmoulik Avigal, kommt viel entschlossener und druckvoller daher.Songs wie Lady Lightning,Message from Hell oder der Titel Song wissen auch rund 35 Jahre nach Erscheinen noch zu gefallen!Wertung: D D-8 von 10 Punkten/1-5 von 10 Punkten GESAMT:7,5 von 10 Punkten

Una delle formazioni più importanti della scena olandese degli anni 80 qui ristampati dalla divebomb records il primo omonimo album datato 1981 e il terzo diamond dreamer che fanno coppia con l altra ristampa del secondo e quarto album. si tratta semplicemente di heavy metal ai suoi primordi.
