There's an arrow to tell you which side goes up; and a space to write in the date you've replaced them. Couldn't be easier - you just pop them out, swab down the vent, and put the new one back in - no cleanign necessary! The price is pretty good these days for a 2-pack; and much less than at Lowe's or Home Depot. I use mine 3 months before changing them out - they're thick enough that no nastiness gets out the other side of the filter or falls down to the floor.

These air filters fit fine and they work pretty well. I recently ordered another pack of 2. When they're finished, I will probably order a different brand just to see if they work better. Overall, I'm satisfied with them. They are effective at filtering dust, pet dander, and pet hair. However, I do occasionally hear a "flapping" sound, and that can be annoying! The maintenance man took a look. He said the AC unit itself works fine, and that it's probably a loose flap from the filter itself. Maybe they are not as sturdy as they should be or maybe the quality has changed recently, because I've been ordering this brand for the past several years.

Air cleanliness:These are great filters. They are changed every 6 months, and honestly they could be used longer. The filters do a great job at filtering the air and keeping contaminents and allergens out of our air. Size:The size is directly proportional to what is neeeded for my unit. Other units will need sizes that are appropriate to us. Quality:They are made of excellent quality. They hold up well inbetween changes and provide enough flexibility to not tear when installing. Dust collection:They do a great job collecting dust. They clearly have signs of usage after replacement but are able to clean the air nicely.Sturdiness:They are sturdy enough to hold together for months at a time, but also flexible enough to be contorted into the space needed in my unit.
