Edited review, high quality tool
I've used channel lock brand for a lot of hand tools for years. I have a few knipex and Klein products too, and they're nicer but I always thought channel lock was good enough for the money. However, channel lock products have disappointed the past few years, while their prices are going up.I've bought a few tsunoda tools, and they are really good for the money, including this tool. At first, I thought this tool was made wrong, but the teeth are meant to line up the way my picture shows.I originally left a bad review thinking they were supposed to close flush, but this style the way they are allows them to precisely grab and hold even very small width items.I think they're really nice duckbills for the price. I'm using them for saltwater fishing out of San diego. They're used to tighten knots in fishing line and for removing hooks. (I'll have to hit them with lubricant/anti corrosion products regularly to keep them working in a saltwater environment) They aren't as burly as the channel lock version but I think they'll work fine for this.I think it's worth checking out anything this brand makes, and the fit and finish and quality / materials, etc. is generally really high for the price.Everything I've tried from them beats channel lock version and is at the same or better prices, but I wouldn't say they are on the same level as knipex. However, for the price, I think they are really, really excellent. I changed my review from 3 to 5 stars because I was wrong about something regarding the tool.

Finally Found after years searching!!
My favorite type of pliers. Was issued in a kit by IBM Endicott 1965 but broken by son about 2010. These replacement ones seem even better - better plastic coating. Happy at last - at least about pliers. {|8<)#

Best brand for price::quality ratio
I have many different brands of pliers. I make chainmaille and need quality. I have Tronex, Lindstrom, knipex (electronics style which aren’t chrome plated and use stainless ball bearing steel), and several other lesser brands. I can say with confidence that these are right up there with the others in terms of quality control and premium look/feel.I did modify it quite a bit for my specific uses but the original design was fantastic for other reasons. The main point of my review is to emphasize the quality that went into these pliers while being only <$15. The joint is literally as good as knipex if not even better. Not a slight bit of play even after I’ve used them daily for several weeks. The steel is also very hard while maintaining great corrosion resistance. I ran them under the sink for almost an hour while finishing up the modifications and got basically no surface rust.I would recommend these to anyone. In their original design they are best used for gripping thin surfaces that are tough to get a hold of. If you keep leaving them in your save for later, just go ahead and throw them onto your next order you won’t be disappointed.

Just what I needed
The pliers are well built and have strong grip despite being smooth. The only small complaint is that the grips get dirty so easily. They are yellow to brown so fast and it’s not easy to clean off. Other than I love to use them

Nice Pliers
When I decided to replace my old rusty pair of duckbill pliers I got on Amazon and looked at the offerings and decided to order a pair made in Japan by Tsunoda and a pair made in U.S.A. bearing the Channellock name. There is no comparison between the finishes on the two pliers, the Tsunoda are smoothly ground with no burrs or sharp edges. In contrast the Channellock pliers look like they were finish ground on an extremely coarse grinding belt and the corners are very sharp with a lot of burrs on them. I am sure the pliers themselves are of reasonable quality and I can regrind and finish them but I don't feel I should have to do so. Since both pliers were comparable in price, if I decide I want another pair, I will purchase the Tsunoda. I have Klein duckbill pliers at work which are nicer in shape, fit, and finish than either the Tsunoda or the Channellock which is why I gave these a 4 star rating. If you are looking for 5 stars purchase Klein, they are fabulous.

The best tool you never knew you needed
I'm shocked. All the years of using and buying various pliers and I never knew about these. I bought them because I had recently discovered the brand Tsunoda thanks to Project Farm on YouTube (definitely check that channel out before your next tool purchase) and I've really enjoyed using every one of their products that I've bought so far. Anyway, I bought the 'duck bills' to take the place of my very old pair of 8" Klein needle nose pliers. I still love my Kliens. Awesome, super tough pliers. But for how I use them, I like the Tsunoda pliers more. Never thought I'd say that, but there it is. My new favorite pair of 'long nose' pliers for half the price of my beloved Kliens which are my gold standard. Thinner frame, lighter, better leverage, better grip overall and zero worries bending the tip out of shape while twisting. They don't have the ability to cut or strip wire like the Kliens, and have a slightly thinner dip grip. But everything else is excellent. These pliers are the closest you'll ever get to having a 'high leverage long nose' set of pliers. I reach for them whenever I get the chance. They are that satisfying to use.
