The colors? Are the colors true to the picure...bright yellow and dark green?

Indeed they are. The picture is accurate. I would use them more for decoration than actual use, they are a bit flimsy and I don't think they would stand up under normal everyday use. And the tops probably wouldn't stay on the first time you shake them. Mine are sitting, pretty in the cupboard, unused... but looking good!!!

Why 100% increase $$$ from 3.50 to 7.82 ??

Well, I didn't pay too much attention to the price increase at the time because I liked the product and wanted it for a gift. The price increase came, I'm sure from the fact that it included 2 complete sets - I felt like I got great deal. One set for me and one to give as a gift.
